Hi I'm Daniel

I live in the beautiful South West with my wife and two sons. I am a PhD researcher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a PhD student researching structural colour. I enjoy sports, socialising creative writing and art. My greatest happiness in life come from being a husband and a father. I love spending time with my family especially outside where we explore this beautiful part of the world we live in, be it in the garden, at the beach or on the moors.

Why I am a Mormon

Throughout my life I have been taught the gospel of Jesus Christ and the promises contained within it. One specific promise is that the Spirit of God will testify of truth and that by the power of this same spirit we may know the truth of all things. I regularly experience the power of the spirit of God testifying to me that the things I diligently study in the bible and the book of Mormon are true. I am also a Mormon because I believe in being lead by a prophet. Christ taught us about prophets saying ‘that by their fruits ye shall know them’ . The fruits of the prophets that lead the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints today are indeed good. The things they teach are centred in Christ and are an excellent guide to anyone striving to maintain spiritual strength and live a life dedicated to following and obeying Christ’s teachings. Another reason I am a Mormon is based in the strong emphasis and importance of families. Family is important to me and I love my church’s teaching that the family is the central unit in God’s plan. All that this church teaches and does has the power to make families eternal and there is nothing I want more than to live with my family forever in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily as I strive to always remember my God in all I do, giving thanks to Him for the blessings that He sees fit to give me. Specific activities that help me to do this are prayer and scripture study, individually and as a family. Every week, as a family we attend church meetings where I teach and work to organise and run a support network which aims to meet the spiritual and temporal needs of the congregation. I also visit the homes of individuals to build faith and strengthen relationships.
