Hi I'm Stewart

I was born and raised in London. I'm a Law & Digital media technology graduate. I'm a mormon

About Me

"Life isn't about hiding from the storm, it's about learning to dance through the rain" I am the oldest of 6 brothers. I have graduated from university studying law & media. I have a strong passion for fashion, poetry & songwriting. From my childhood God blessed my family to be relatively musical so all of us individually play different instruments, i personally play the piano. I also have a love for anime - Japanese cartoons and wish to learn the language in the future after learning Spanish. I also love Online Gaming! My favorite game at the Moment is League of Legends!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because, as many of those who have undergone a conversion, i put my queries about the truthfulness of this gospel into prayer and received an answer. This answer has lead me to serve a mission! I am currently serving in Raleigh, North Carolina in the Spanish Language. I have only been out for a couple months, but this opportunity has blessed my life, my families life and opened my eyes to the beauty of the fruits of the gospel and the power of the atonement in changing an individuals life for the better. Although, there is a lot i don't know, a lot that i struggle with, a lot that i am yet to know & understand by his grace. i know one thing and that is that the church is true. Jesus is my Savior and he walks. Although i must say i do not always remember this, i am thankful that i serve a living and forgiving God. He has blessed me in an innumerable amount of ways, I owe him more than i can imagine.

How I live my faith

"Walking beside Christ gives me a clear sense of direction. In the end i will be left & i will be right." I live my faith by surrounding myself with others of a similar faith or people that are generally good. I try to make sure i give advice to the youth and those that have gone through similar problems. I visit families on occasion to find out how they are doing in my church and used to be involved in several community projects when i was younger. I pray daily & read my scriptures, maintaining a constant relationship with the one who makes everything possible in this battle of life. Additionally this year in September i began my mission ( A 2 Year voluntary service to spread the gospel in a different part of the world). I currently work daily, to spread the gospel and bless the lives of the individuals and families in the Raleigh, North Carolina, Area. A true answer to my prayers, i was assigned to labor in the Spanish language, and therefore have had the opportunity to learn Spanish and work predominantly with families that speak only the Spanish language.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Stewart
In Short. No. As it stated clearly in John 14:6 - "Jesus saith unto him, I am the away, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me". This again is reiterated and confirmed in Mosiah 3:17 (Which is a Book in the Book of Mormon, Which we believe works alongside the bible as scripture fulfilling the prophecy in Ezekiel 37) " And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent". Now Although we sustain Joseph Smith As a Prophet of God. We honor his sacrifice and we respect him for his faith & diligence as a servant of the Lord and instrument in his hands, similar to the prophets of old - Moses, Abraham e.t.c. We believe and know that salvation can only come through God and living the teachings of his Son - the Savior & Redeemer of the world Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Stewart
Although it is a popular tradition in the Church, it is not a requirement. I certainly did not think that i would always serve a mission. However through the short time i have undergone this service I have realized that it is truly a blessing both personal and for your families, to fully dedicate time to represent the person who sacrificed for each and every one of our sins personally, Jesus Christ. He taught in Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost. Missionaries generally begin they're missions around 19 to 21, Although i began my mission aged 22. Men serve for 2 years and women serve for 18 months. Missionary Service is a voluntary, un-paid service which is assigned prayerfully by the leaders of the church, to spread the Gospel around the world, laboring in the Lord's Vineyard and building the kingdom of Zion. Some of those may be required to learn a language to accomplish this fulfilling the prophecy in Revelation 14 and again in Mosiah 15:28 " And now I say unto you that the time shall come that the salvation of the Lord shall be declared to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people". How can I know Mormonism is true?

Stewart
Through God. In reality we preach and worship God, through his savior Jesus Christ. We believe that our prophets are called by God, to be a mouth piece to the world in proclaiming his Gospel. Therefore the best person to ask would be the person who we all worship, through his son. Joseph Smith, The prophet who established our church put to test the promise made in James 1:5-6 "If any of you lack wisdom , let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" and received his answer, which lead to the formation of the church. As paraphrased in the introduction, In the last book of the Book of Mormon, Moroni 10:4-5. it says "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. Jesus Also taught in Matthew 7:11 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you". As it says in James, Faith without works is dead. You will need to seek and knock by putting the things you've read to the test. By reading them, thinking about them thoughtfully and finally praying with a sincere, open heart to receive a confirmation through the Holy Ghost that these things are true. Show more Show less
