Hi I'm Martina

I grew up in German in a working class family. I have 3 sisters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 83, a widow and a pensioner. My husband came from Tonga and I had a happy marriage. I lost my husband through a fatal accident about two decades ago. I have one daughter, her name is Valerie. My interests are art, gardening, and cooking.

Why I am a Mormon

I asked to be baptised by my brother-in-law, Peter who lived in Tonga at the time. On my visit to Tonga I observed the Church and the Godly way the family of my in-laws lived in the Gospel. After 6 months, I received the Spirit - I was attending a Church meeting and I felt touched by the Spirit. After that, I asked to be baptised by my brother-in-law, who was Stake President at the time. We came back to London and I have faithfully continued my practice as a member in the Hyde Park Chapel. Since I joined the Church I find my personality has changed to one of a happier and more helpful of a person.

How I live my faith

My first calling in London was as an assistant to the Relief Society President. My second calling was a visiting teaching supervisor and I am still serving in that calling. I enjoy giving home visits and I enjoy receiving them and I like to talk about the Church with my friends. Unfortunately, I have never been able to impress any of them. But I'm still soldiering on and I'm very happy to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
