Hi I'm Sam

I am a husband, musician, trainee counsellor, outdoor enthusiast and I am a mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to a beautiful wife and we have been married nearly 3 years. I work full-time as an administrator for a health care company, whilst studying/training part-time to become a counsellor. Whilst trying to keep a balance in life I also make time for my hobbies. Music is a big part of my life and I am the lead singer and guitarist for a band who play indie/folk rock and have recorded a few of our own tracks. I love being involved in the church choir. I love being in the great outdoors and enjoy anything from surfing to rock climbing; and the best part of that is enjoying those activities with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that I have a Heavenly Father, and I am one of his children. I know he loves me more than I could ever hope to comprehend, but he has provided us with a plan that if we follow we can have peace in this life and Eternal happiness in his presence forever with our families. I believe this plan is the gospel of Jesus Christ as restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I am a mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon many times and have learned that it is true and contains the inspired teachings of our Heavenly Father. The blessings I have received as I have lived this gospel are more than I can count but I am thankful for them everyday and they remind me that I am a loved son of an all powerful Heavenly Father. The gospel that I have grown up with and have learnt about all my life is centred on Jesus Christ and His Atoning sacrifice. I am a mormon because of the profound influence these things have had on my life. I love life and I love being mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ and a big part of that is my involvement with the community and members of the church. The Saviour spent his life among his people serving, showing kindness and helping those in need. I try to follow this example and strive to help those around me through service in the church and community. Some responsibilities I have had have involved being in the youth programmes of the church and also teaching classes on Sunday's. Ongoing responsibilities involve visiting with members of the church in their homes and sharing spiritual messages and providing support in whatever way they need. I believe that through these means I have the opportunities to be more Christlike.
