Hi I'm Tora

I grew up 1500 miles from the North pole, I love music and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm the daughter of two wonderful parents who have raised me in the gospel. Me and my sister has most of the time been the only active Latter Day Saint youth where I live, which is quite normal in Norway. All the youth conferences I have been to are because of this, very valuable to me.I just finished high school, and right now I'm serving a mission in Finland! Superamazing! All my life, music has been very important to me, and I play the piano and the flute. Not because I'm like supergood at it, but because it's funny, and makes me happy! I also love to sing, and even though we're a small branch, we sometimes have a branch-choir, it's always beautiful to be a part of that! The best music I've ever listened to? Mormon Tabernacle choir with Andrea Bocelli! Impossible to listen to and not feel uplifted!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, and I have often been told, that I was brainwashed into being a mormon. I was not. I love the gospel, my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, but it took time for me to do that. For a long time, I just went through the moitons, went to church, read my scriputers now and then, and all of that, but I didn't LOVE it. I just, did like I was told. In the end I even stopped reading the scriptures for a while! The turning point for me, came after a desperate prayer to my Heavenly Father. Building up a relationship of love and trust with my Heavenly Father was, and is, hard work, but it's worth it! I would never go back to where I was before that prayer, just because I have to make an effort. I love the gospel. I know that My Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lives, and I know that Jesus Christ suffered for each and every person! No one are forgotten! They truly love us, and wants to help us to come back to them, we just have to let them help us!

How I live my faith

Because we're such a small branch, it's almost impossible not to always have a calling you should fulfill. Up through the years I've hade a lot of different assignments given, f.ex. I am right now(among other things) assistant in nursery/primary. Being with the little children and learning with them, is wonderful. Spending time with these beautiful little boys and girls, puts an extra big smile on my face! They are just so wonderful. For the past five years I've been the only latter day saint person to go to school in my hometown. Some might say it's a trial, and sometimes it feels like that. I have to make very clear choices about what I should or shouldn't do in every situation. I've learned the hard way that if I don't, the world will punch me in the face! But I have wonderful friends that, even though they don't believe what I believe, still respect my choices, and even help me keep my standards!

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes I do! God loves all of his children! He wants us to have constant guidance while we're on earth, so that we can learn what, and how we can do what is right. The best way He can make sure we can learn this, is by having a prophet here on earth that can tell us what God wants to say to us today! The world changes so fast, and have som many different ''popular'' meanings. It's easy to get caught up in this trend-thingy, but with a living prophet on earth, we have a secure point in this world that we know only will teach the truth, popular or not. Show more Show less
