Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in Utah. I am a Registered Nurse in the United States Navy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. I went to college on a ROTC scholarship with the Navy. I graduated with a bachelors of science degree in nursing. After that was commissioned as a Naval Officer in the Nurse Corps and stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. I met my handsome hubs there and we began our life together. Since then I am now a reservist and a busy Mom of two while my husband attends a rigorous masters program in Florida. I love swimming in the ocean, playing on the beach with my kids and going to the park. It's been fun experiencing the east coast, humidity, alligators and warm waters of the Atlantic!!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the freedom and simple joy and peace I feel in my heart that comes from the understanding the gospel gives me. I don't have to worry or stress over the happenings of the world, I am free of the terrible addictions of this world that plague many of my dear friends and family. I love the clarity of mind I have when I think of my past present and future and the future of my children. I love the feeling on knowing I am never alone in this turbulent world. I have the most powerful friend in the universe and I am his daughter and he loves me and wants me to be happy. I love the knowledge I gain everyday learning more about the gospel and about the world, how they relate and how they play off each other. I know my Heavenly Father loves me and my family. I believe this gospel is true and I know that if followed will bring a joy and happiness that can not be experienced any other way. I love the prophet and apostles and am so grateful for the sacrifices they make on my behalf to do what they do. I love my family and am so grateful for the peace of knowing that we will be a family forever no matter what happens to any of us in this mortal life. I am grateful for the redeeming power of Christ's atonement and the power it gives me to return to my Heavenly Father to a place far greater than I can ever imagine. I'm grateful for the knowledge of the scriptures and the power that flows into my life when I read them. I love this gospel and I love my family. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by example. I teach the 7 and 8 year olds in my church and love it! They are the sweetest little energetic spirits ever! My family attends church on Sunday and enjoy feeling the spirit of Christ there. My kids love attending library programs in our community and we have play groups with lots of kids from our neighborhoods and church.
