Hi I'm Meriam

I'm a bookworm, I'm an optimist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Until I was 10, I lived with my family in the state of New Mexico. It was there that my love of Spanish and Latin culture began. I recently returned from serving a full time mission in Bolivia. I loved the opportunity to meet the incredible people there. I'm currently at school studying to be a teacher. I love reading and poetry as well as hiking and camping. My family is the most important thing in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is something that has always been a part of me. I could tell that my parents truly believed what they taught me and my siblings. I never realized until I left home what a blessing the teachings of the gospel made in my life. Sure, we weren't a perfect family, but we always knew that we could work through anything because we all had the same goal: to become a forever family. I never had to worry about if my dad would come home drunk, or if my mom would take off and leave us one day. I'm not saying that these are traits only Mormons possess, but I have seen that as we live the principles Christ has taught us. My own conviction that Christ is my Savior, and that this is His church has come slowly, but surely until I have no doubt in my mind.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by visiting other women in the church every month to make sure that they are doing okay temporally and spiritually. It is amazing how many times I have instead been served by these women. Their faith helps me to become a better person every day.
