Hi I'm Tiffany Phillips

From Tennessee, attend BYU, been called to serve in Brazil Sao Paulo Interlagos Mission, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am from a small country town in Tennessee. I like to do all kinds of things, like hiking, swimming, being outdoors, writing stories, reading, listening to music and singing, really like to do anything fun and exciting! I am a junior at Brigham Young University, studying English Language. I was an assistant secretary for a computer software company. I have been called to serve my mission in the Brazil Sao Paulo Interlagos Mission, and am currently in the California Long Beach mission waiting on reassignment waiting to go to Brazil December 30th. I am learning best how to serve the people I am to find and bring the gospel to! I am serving my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ! I have never felt so much peace from wearing this beautiful nametag saying I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!! I love being a missionary, knowing that I am called of God to proclaim His gospel to all that will hear my voice!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 8 years old. When I first came to realize it was the true Church, I was in middle school, probably 14 years old. I was bound and determined to uphold the standards the church taught. I knew that this Church was true, just as I know it even more so today. This is the only true Church in the world. It is Christ's church, the same Church that was on the earth when He was alive. It has been restored back to the way it was through Joseph Smith, the Prophet of the Restoration. He also translated the Book of Mormon which is another testament of Jesus Christ. It does not replace the Bible, but goes hand in hand with it. Just as the Bible is the teachings and prophecies of Christ in Jerusalem, the Book of Mormon is the teachings of Christ in the Ancient Americas, even containing a record of Christ visiting the Americas. No other book can bring so much peace and comfort and guidance as this book can. Jesus Christ suffered for all of our pains and sins so that we can return to live with Him and our Father in Heaven again someday if we repent of our sins. Christ is our advocate with the Father. It is through Him that we can be perfected. We are here on this earth to receive knowledge and experience, to prove to our Father that we are trying to become like Christ and will live righteously so that we can be back in their presence again!

How I live my faith

I attend BYU which is a church-based college. Here I am surrounded by other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who believe and worship the way I do. When I was in high school in Tennessee, I was the only member of the church. No one else believed the way I did. It was hard and I experienced alot of persecution because people didn't understand what I believed in. I wasn't afraid to tell people about the church's teachings and standards. Now, I am surrounded by thousands of people just like me.
