Hi I'm Bethany Pelham

I'm 16, I live in a little town in England and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm your typical 16 year old girl, I like to socialize, love to laugh and to be in company of new people. I've grown up in a little town called Haywards Heath in England, with my Mum, Dad and two brothers. My older brother Marcus, is 19 and currently serving a mission in Virginia Richmond and my younger brother Ryan who is 14 and preparing for his mission. I was brought up in the church by my Mum, Relief Society President and a very supportive Dad who isn't an active member, I was baptized at the age of 8 and will never forget that day. I've grown up in a big family full of cousins which has taken me down the route of childcare. I am the CTR primary teacher in my ward which is a calling I never thought i'd have at my age but i'm so grateful that I do as they teach me so much. I work full time in a Montessori Nursery which I love doing, this is also helping me save for serving a mission one day. I, like everybody else, have my struggles and trials; I feel the love of my Saviour which helps me and guides me along the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I quite honestly couldn't imagine my life without the church, I don't even know about where i'd be but what I do know is that i'm doing what I should be doing,I'm in the right place and that's what matters. That't not to say I don't make mistakes because doesn't everybody? I first gained my own testimony last year at EFY, summer 2012, it was the most incredible feeling to have the personal confirmation that I did that this church really is true. I always knew, but it was based on faith and other people's testimony's which is fine. If you haven't yet received your own testimony and you truly want to then pray, fast, learn, have faith, be patient and it'll come, I know that for a fact. I know with all my heart that this church is true, I may not be able to answer every question, I'm still learning myself! I don't need to know it all though, because I have so much faith in what i'm taught through peoples examples, lessons, from what the Prophets testify to us, through reading the Book of Mormon and from day to day experiences. It can be hard missing out on a party that everyone's going to, or dressing modestly, keeping the word of wisdom but even as a 16 year old, I can see how worth it is to stick to my standards and to what I believe in because it's who I am, and I want to represent myself and my Heavenly Father as a faithful Daughter of God. My testimony has grown so much, I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, that we have a living prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, I know that Jesus Christ, our brother, made the biggest possible sacrifice so that one day we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again and that's one thing I will hold onto forever. Once you know, you know.

How I live my faith

I was born into Haywards Heath ward and am lucky enough to still be in that ward. I am one of two active young women, I have three amazing young women leaders of which I have a great relationship with both leaders and youth. I am the CTR teacher in primary, I used to think it was so cliche when teachers/leaders would bare their testimony on learning so much from there class and loving them all so much; now I can totally understand because I honestly do love them all so much and they teach me every single week! I am on my third year of seminary and can't wait for my fourth! My faith isn't just something for a Sunday, or for mutual, but it's something that occurs every day in my life. Because of my faith, it determines every decision I make..My friends, events, my attitude, my nature and overall personality. I try to be the best person I can because of the knowledge I have within the church, I know that we can never be perfect as Christ was, but if we strive to be the best that we can be, then that is good enough. 'Be better today than you were yesterday and be better tomorrow than you are today.'
