Hi I'm Nicala

I grew up in sunny Mesa Arizona. I am serving a full-time mission in the Mexico City West Mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am serving as a missionary in Mexico and I love sharing with others what I believe. After my mission, I will return to school to finish my Public Health degree. I love music. I play violin, and like to dabble in guitar, piano, and the harmonica (if there's a campfire-other than that, no one wants to hear a harmonica). I also love to travel and London is one of my most favorite cities I've been to. I love doing things outdoors. I especially enjoy hiking, swimming, yoga (that's indoors) running, sand volleyball and camping. My favorite color is lavender and I can't stand milk or honey. Dogs are the best creatures alive. I love my family and my faith!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church and was baptized at age eight. I have always loved the gospel and I feel so blessed to have always had its influence in my life. My testimony has come gradually from the accumulation of experiences that have tried my faith and encouraged me to grow. My testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon has come through pondering, study, and much prayer. I know that Joseph Smith restored the true gospel to the earth; the Spirit has revealed that truth to me. I know that Christ came to earth and atoned personally for my sins. Through the power of that Atonement, I can overcome my sins, weaknesses, and trials. I know President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God and that his words are the Lord's words. His counsel will keep us safe. The more I live the gospel, the more I love it and the more I know of its truthfulness. I look forward to being a faithful, valiant servant of the Lord for the rest of my life.

How I live my faith

I try to live what I believe as best as I can. I look at Christ's attributes and the things He taught while on earth and I strive to exemplify that through my thoughts and actions. I read the scriptures daily and make time to have a sincere prayer with my Heavenly Father at least twice a day. When I mess up, I know I can always turn to Him for forgiveness and because of Christ's Atonement, I can be forgiven of my sins and receive strength to carry on.
