Hi I'm Trent Oviatt

I am a disciple of my Savior, a student, a son, and a brother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a boy who has lived in the same house his entire life. I have wonderful parents who love and care for me and want the best for me. I have two older brothers. I am currently serving my two year mission in the Wisconsin, Milwaukee mission in which I have been called by God. I am excited to share with all these people my faith and what I have come to know to be the only church with the fullness of the gospel found in one place on this earth. I have grown up my entire life playing sports, they have been such a large part of my life and who I am today. God has blessed me with many talents and skills and I am extremely grateful to him for that. I now am 19 years old and serving the Lord in Marquette, Michigan. I am extremely blessed, as are we all for the gift of life and I simply can not believe the blessing it is to serve The Lord for two years of my life in Wisconsin and Michigan. I know there is no other place I would rather be than in the service of my God. I thank him for all I have been so generously given. My family, my friends, and my faith are the Most important things to me in this life. We truly are blessed far beyond what we deserve. God desires for all of His children to experience true and everlasting joy, I know it is found in the service of Him who Created us and as we live and enjoy the fullness of His gospel which I know is again found in one place on the earth. Jesus Christ is my Savior, I love Him forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the truthfulness of the gospel that this church holds. This is the only true church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was restored to this earth by God through a living prophet named Joseph Smith. He was also a representative of Jesus Christ as I will be on my mission. Joseph Smith endured much torment and many hardships to restore the gospel of Jesus Christ back to the earth. There is no other way to explain how he translated the Book of Mormon than with God's help. An uneducated boy reading and translating an ancient language that no scholar could even read. This church was given us from God so that we can obtain eternal glory. Only through this gospel can we obtain eternal life with those around us whom we love so dearly. What other church promises so many blessings just by doing the small and simple things that God has asked us to do. He sacrificed everything for us, He sacrificed his only Son that we could return to live with him and all he asks us to do is not even a comparison to what he did for us. I know this church to be the only true church on this earth to be the truth. I know that there is a living prophet who receives modern day revelation through God the Father. I know that the Savior, Jesus Christ, did in fact come to this earth to be crucified for our sins. I know that he has felt every pain, every sorrow, every burden that each one of us will ever feel in our lives and I know that he is the only way that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven. I love this gospel of Jesus Christ, I am a representative of him in our dispensation and I will proudly say I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I am called upon to be an example of my faith. I strive to live a Christ-like life each and every day. I do this by serving others, by building my relationship with God through personal prayer and scripture study, and to love all those around me. I am forever indebted to our Savior because he has made it possible that we can return to Heaven and live with our Father in Heaven once again. I have the amazing opportunity to represent my Savior as a Missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Wisconsin, Milwaukee Mission. I am currently serving for the period of 24 months in this regard. As a missionary I am blessed and honored to bare my witness of Jesus Christ many times daily along with my love for him and his church. I live my faith by not only believing and claiming to believe in something, but acting on that belief just as James tells us is the most powerful influence of faith, "I will shew thee my faith by my works." James 2:18. This is the example that Jesus Christ set for us all. I live life daily in hopes that I may be an instrument in the hands of God in helping those around me all come unto Christ in any way. This is true discipleship. I live my faith and by my example, by who I am every day of the week, I strive to represent my Savior well, rather than just on the Sabbath day. I give my all to God, expecting nothing in return for I have truly come to understand that God's plan for us is greater than any that man could ever try to create or re-create. God's ways are not our ways. As such we must live life with an eternal perspective, which will in turn lead us all to do even as Jesus Christ has asked, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9:23 and to Live our faith.
