Hi I'm Nathaniel

I grew up in Utah, born to two wonderful parents who raised me to be the best man I could learn to be. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a "Whovian" although I hate the term and prefer to be called a fan of doctor who. I enjoy almost any fantasy and science fiction stories. I plan to attend college at BYU Idaho about 2 years from now. I am a fan of Shakespeare and Brandon Sanderson stories. I enjoy singing, acting, reading, walking on stilts and cooking. (Mainly omelets). And I LOVE going out on dates with groups of friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to two parents who both were born "Mormon" and continued in this faith up until today. They raised me to learn what they believe and decide for myself if I believed it as well. As they raised me I read the Book of Mormon for the first time at nine years old. I had already been baptized as a member of this church, but as I read that book I grew to know that it was true. I had believed the stories in the Bible and Book of Mormon before then, but know I knew they were true. The next major experience I had was at the beginning of my teenage years. I was at a Temple open house. A building that we Mormons find extremely sacred and special. As I walked through I could feel God's influence and love in that building coming down on me to the point where I almost could not stand. I knew that God was real and that this was his church. Having had these two experiences I have come to know that this church is the church of God. I am willing to do anything he would require of me because I know it will make me happier in the long run.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by donating one tenth of all of my earnings to my God. These funds are used to help build places of worship. I live my faith by studying scripture such as the Bible and Book of Mormon. I live my faith by spending time talking to other guys in my neighborhood who may or may not be regular church attenders and invite them to spend time doing things with me and my friends outside of church such as going to movies and restaurant. I live my faith by going on dates with friends. I live my faith by currently serving a mission for the LDS church

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

We are not required to Serve a mission. But all young men are expected to serve and many young women choose to serve. All missions are voluntary. My personal mission is an experience I look forward to very much. The earliest a young man is allowed to serve is at age 18 after he has completed high school. For young women it is age 19. Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

yes. In the Bible christ often refers to "other sheep" which are the people in North America. The best place to learn more about this account is in the Book of Mormon, under 3 nephi Chapters 11 to the end of third Nephi. Show more Show less
