Hi I'm Jose Mari

Born in Cebu, Philippines, I moved to the U.S. in 1991. I'm a Father and Special Education Teacher and I'm a Mormon. :)

About Me

I'm a Father of two wonderful children. A husband to an amazing woman. I'm a special education teacher who loves math.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel God's presence in our church, in the testimonies of humble children and ordinary members, and in the hymns that we sing. The teachings of the church make me want to become a better person. I love the fact that all worthy adult male members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have the authority to baptize, bless, confirm, lay hands and perform sacred ordinances just like when the apostles started spreading the gospel, each worthy man was ordained to be a priest to their own household and to those they serve. This is the one and only true church on the earth today with full authority granted by the savior himself, even Jesus Christ. I have a testimony that God, our Heavenly Father lives. I know that Jesus is the Christ and through him only, we can be saved. I know that his spirit is with us and will guide us always when we seek to follow all the commandments.

How I live my faith

I try to remember and apply the lessons that I've learned in church in my daily routine. I am nowhere near perfect but I know that someday, with my savior's help, I can be the person that God wants me to be. I try to go to church every Sunday and try to keep the all commandments and teach my own children the values that our Heavenly Father wants us to share. I pray always for God's help. I ask for forgiveness for all my sins on a regular basis and seek the guidance of the Holy Ghost on a daily basis. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the blessings that God has given me.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Jose Mari
The Bible is a testimony of the life of Jesus and his ministry. It also depicts the challenges that he and his apostles encountered during their quest to spread the gospel. It shows how God loves us as a human race in general and how he is ever merciful and will succor us in our time of need even those times when we do not deserve any help at all because of our own pride. The Book of Mormon is another testament that God lives and Jesus is the Christ; this book supports all that is taught in the Bible and adds on a special witness of the divinity of the savior.
