Hi I'm Laurelynn

I grew up in the military. I am a creative college student. I volunteer-teach children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Animation student with a passion for languages. As such, I love drawing and learning anything and everything about the world. In the past few years, I have been a trumpet player, a soccer player, a video-gamer and video-game maker, a world traveler, a photographer, a writer/blogger, and a teacher. I have had many struggles in my life battling MDD, but I know that this has only brought me closer to my faith, my family, and my Savior. I served a full-time mission and am now continuing my studies.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the military lifestyle has certainly contributed to who I am, but the strongest influence upon my character has been my faith. I, like many I know, grew up in the church. That does not make me a Mormon, though. This is my church because I asked Him, after studying the scriptures and prayerful consideration, if this was the church for me. I received a witness at that time and many times after that. I'll admit, it wasn't easy. It took me a very long time to listen to the promptings of the Spirit and recognize them as such. But I can personally promise that He gives up on no one. Through all my hardship and doubt, He never gave up. And for that, I'm eternally grateful.

How I live my faith

Everyday. Everyday, you build your faith. You build other's faith. And as you focus on building other people up, you spend less time tearing them down. As their faith and love increases, so does yours. This is what charity - the true love of Christ - is all about! It is so simple: just love others as Jesus loves them. I have been blessed in being able to serve a mission because it was the best job in the whole world! I had the privilege of meeting new people daily, studying the scriptures all the time, and sharing Jesus Christ and his teachings with everyone. Who wouldn't want to devote their time to helping people find true happiness? After returning, I have found my testimony stronger than before. This has made a huge impact in my life and has helped me continue forward in my endeavors.
