Hi I'm Sister Smith

I am a proud aunt. I love telling corny jokes and wearing Chacos. Yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of six kids. I have lived in Idaho for most of my life. I grew up in a rural town in North Central Idaho. When I graduated from high school I started college at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I have been a student there for the last two and a half years. I love serving and helping people.I love to cook and bake for my friends and family. My favorite kind of cookies are sugar cookies. I have been called to serve as a full time missionary for 18 months to Yekaterinburg, Russia. I look forward to serve the people of Russia.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gives me happiness and hope. I have found that when I am living righteously I am happier. When I am reading my scriptures daily, saying my prayers, and attending my church meetings life goes smoother and I am happy. Doing these things allows the spirit to be with me constantly, this gives me great joy and happiness. Being a member of the Church provides an opportunity for families to be sealed for eternity. Families and love doesn’t end with death. This makes me very happy. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints gives me an eternal prospective. It gives me the hope that things will get better. I also receive hope through the atonement, that when life is hard or things are not fair, I have a loving Savior who is there to help me get through those times. When I make mistakes I have the hope and knowledge that I can be made clean again. I know that I am an overall happier person because I am a member of the Church.

How I live my faith

When I look at my life and the way I live I don’t feel like I’m that missionary member. I haven’t given all my friends Books of Mormon, I don’t invite someone to church all the time, and I’m not bearing my testimony of Christ to them all the time. But I live my testimony. I am an example to my friends. I am also not afraid to tell my friends about church related experiences or activities. I attend a Church university and so I am able to tell my high school friends some of the things I’m learning that relate to the gospel. When someone asks why I am so happy I tell them, “because I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, or because life is good and Heavenly Father is so loving.” Another way I live my faith is that for the next 18 months I will be serving a mission to profess my faith. I will be going to Russia to teach the people there about Jesus Christ’s life, the restorations of the gospel, and eternal principals that we as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe.
