Hi I'm Brad Petersen

I live in Logan Utah, I run Track and Field, I love playing music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 6 children. I have goodly parents who have taught me how to be a good person. I'm 18 years old in my senior year at Logan High School. I love hanging out with my awesome friends, reading, competing in Track and Field, and playing all kinds of music on the piano, ukelele, and the bass. I love spending time with my family, and playing with my two year old sister and four year old brother. I am preparing to serve a mission for the LDS Church in Arequipa Peru.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because nothing else brings me such happiness and joy. This Church has blessed my life in every aspect tremendously. The scriptures promise that if you live their teachings that you will be blessed and I have felt those blessings in my life as I have tried to live as Christ taught. I am a Mormon because of the knowledge it gives me of this life, our life before we were born, and our lives after we die. I am a Mormon because I know that this is Christ's church, and that he loves me very deeply even though I am not perfect, and I have felt his love in my heart as I have done my best to be like him and to use His Atonement in my life, and repent of my sins. There is nothing more precious to me than the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the things that it teaches me. It has given me purpose, direction, hope, love, happiness, knowledge, and help in my life. I came to know that this Church is true by my own action. I read the scriptures, specifically the Book of Mormon, and I prayed to know if it was true, and I tried to follow what the Book said, and i got a confirmation by the Holy Spirit of God in my heart that it was true. I felt a burning warmth inside me, like a big hug from out loving Heavenly Father. I know this Church is true, and that it is for the good of all of us, the children of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best everyday all the time to be like Jesus Christ. I try to treat others as I would like to be treated, and to be a friend and a comfort to all I come in contact with. I do my best to be a good example to those around me and to live up to my standards. I serve in the Church by fulfilling all of my assignments to the best of my ability with a good attitude, and try to always bless and help the lives of other people. I love the opportunnity to serve in any capacity whether that be in a church calling or not. I believe that if I have the capability of serving, I also have the responsibility to do the same. Jesus Christ lived a perfect life where he gave of himself completely to those he came in contact with. He loved others unconditionally, and served them with pure love in his heart. I try my best to do that as well. I may not be able to do big huge significant acts, but I can do small and simple acts of love and kindness everyday and I think those can make the biggest difference.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Brad Petersen
Everyone came down to this earth to experience life and to gain a body. These were necessary things to help us on our path to becoming like our Father in Heaven. However, our Father in Heaven knew that we would pass through a veil of forgetfulness and live in a fallen state where we could choose to do good or to do evil. It is inevitable that everyone will make mistakes in his or her life. When we make a mistake we become spiritually seperated from God and in this state we cannot return to live with Him, because no unclean thing can enter the kingdom of God. So Heavenly Father prepared a way for us to repent of our sins and be able to come back to Him. He sent his firstborn son Jesus Christ to earth where Christ would live a perfect life and atone for the sins of the world and die for mankind and then be resurrected after three days of death. Christ felt every pain, and sin that every person ever has felt does feel or will feel. He knows each and every one of us better than we know ourselves. Jesus did not have to do what he did for us, but he chose to because he loves us so much. He has said that if we just accept him, keep his commandments, and sincerely repent of our sins, he has promised he will no longer remember our sins, and he will forgive us. And through His grace we can ultimately return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father in heaven. What a great promise this is. Show more Show less
