Hi I'm Kristen

I'm a swimmer, a drafter, one of ten kids, a recently returned missionary & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an avid swimmer. Anything with water, I am there. I was a varsity swimmer all through high school and am now training for my first triathlon. I love sports of any kind and love being active. Snowboarding is the only thing that makes winter livable for me in Utah. I recently graduated from college with an Associates of Applied Science in Drafting and Design Technology and am working full time until I decide what to get my Bachelor's Degree in. Growing up is a little more difficult than anticipated but it's great. I recently returned from Riverside, California where I served my Savior and the people there for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a part of this church my whole life. I was born to loving parents that have raised me in a home where Christ is at the center of all we do. I was taught to read the scriptures, love, serve, believe, obey, pray, and keep all of God's commandments. Being a member of this church was just handed to me and I took it. It wasn't until I hit my teenage years that I started to ask myself why I wanted to be a Mormon. I started looking for answers to why this was meaningful for me. I didn't want to be a member of the church that was a member "just because." I wanted reasons for me personally. I soon realized why: The church gives me direction every day. I know that I am not here by chance and I'm not here to just have fun. God has a plan for me. This gospel pushes me to become more than I am: to continually try to do and be good. It provides answers to life's toughest questions and replaces doubt and fear with faith. The church does not require me to be perfect but to continually do my best and progress. It provides a way for me to be healed from past mistakes through my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I feel that the best way to live my faith is by serving those around me. Living in Utah, the majority of my class mates are Mormon but not all of them. I get to work with all kinds of different people in school and I try to accept people for who they are and serve them as best I can. I also have the opportunity to serve within my young single adult congregation. I have played the organ during church in the past and I have many opportunities to perform service for those in need. I am also serving a full-time mission for the next 18 months in Riverside, California! I have put school and life on hold to serve my Lord full-time. I have so many opportunities to share the message of the restored gospel with those around me and see their lives become better by helping them come closer to Jesus Christ. I love what I am doing though it is very hard work.
