Hi I'm TJ Pugmire

I grew up in San Diego, I attend BYU, and will serve a mission in Guatemala.

About Me

I grew up being one of a few Mormons at my school. I played on sports teams, in high school and went and surfed a lot with friends from my teams, and outside my school. I'm attending BYU right now, and i am getting ready to serve a two year mission for my church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me hope and purpose in my life. It helps me to live a stronger and healthier life, and allows me the chance to become the best person I can. I love the church and the knowledge i have gained from being a member of this church. I know that this gospel can bless the lives of many others and it has blessed my life. I feel comfort and peace when I keep the promises I've made with my faith. I have seen it change people's lives. I know this church is true, I know that Joseph Smith, (a prophet) restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ upon the earth so that we can enjoy all the things that Heavenly Father wants to give us, as long as we take the name Christ and choose to follow his teachings.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly, and participate in church activities throughout the week. One of the responsibilities I have as a member, is home teaching, where we go and visit people that meet in our building. When I was in high school i participated a lot in young men activities, like camping trips, and church organized basketball league. The Mormon church does a lot of service projects, so I've participated a lot within and around my community, doing clean up projects and trying to help improve the the community.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

TJ Pugmire
Mormons are not very different from anyone else. We go to work, school, sports, and all other kinds of activities that average people do in an every day life. The lifestyle is different in that there are things we promise we won't do like drink alcoholic beverages, or avoid doing certain on Sundays in order to keep the reverence of the Sabbath, which may make us stand out a little. But another huge part of our lives is going to church on a weekly basis, and for high school aged kids it also involves going to seminary (which is where we just do scripture study, and try to discern what the main message is within the scriptures), and taking part in service activities. So our lifestyle are not all out of the ordinary. Show more Show less
