Hi I'm Patcee

I'm a Mom, a Grandma, and I've hiked Mt. Timpanogos five times, last time at age 65. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I feel very blessed in my life to have a beautiful family--a great husband who has always supported me, two fantastic daughters, who married wonderful men, 9 incredible grandchildren & one super granddaughter-in-law. I love spending time with them--at the beach, the park, watching ballgames, celebrating occasions--they make me smile! I was very blessed to grow up in Southern California, during the '50's--it truly was "Happy Days". I have also lived in beautiful Montana (Billings, Red Lodge, Missoula), Northern California and for the last 38 years in Utah (Orem & Provo.) I love being outdoors--playing tennis, hiking, exploring new vistas. I'm also passionate about art work, volunteering as a docent at three art museums. My career was with the United States Census Bureau, where I got to meet and "hang out" with a variety of interesting people.

Why I am a Mormon

Joy - Direction - Fulfillment - Gratitude - Blessings - Tender Mercies - Glimpses of heaven - Family - Growth - Hope - These are just some of the words that come to mind when I think about why I'm a Mormon. In a world with many competing voices, His voice, the voice of Jesus Christ beckons me to Come, Follow Him through His gospel, found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know His Church was restored through a young future Prophet Joseph Smith, who went to God in prayer to know which Church to join. The answer was surprising, life changing and ultimately will change the world. I feel so blessed to live at this time when His gospel is once again upon the earth. It helps me set priorities in my life that bring me joy now and will eternally. As Isaiah foretold "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

How I live my faith

I have learned that true happiness can be found in reaching out & lifting others. Many opportunities have been placed along my journey to do this. I've had leadership callings in the women's organization of the church and also reached out to individuals in the community, through helping at the Women's Shelter, Family Support Center and at-risk hotline. When "9/11" occurred we organized a fundraising potluck dinner in our neighborhood & raised funds for the Red Cross--also baked cookies with the grand kids and took to some local fire stations. A real thrill was being a Volunteer at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City for the Opening & Closing Ceremonies--it was well worth being in the freezing weather to be part of this great event and meet other local volunteers and people from all over the world. I am currently serving with my husband on a 2 year mission for our Church, living in Brighton, England and working with University students and other young adults--it's great!
