Hi I'm Garrett Garcia

I grew up in Hawaii. I'm serving a mission in the California Longbeach Mission. I've been a Mormon my entire life.

About Me

I focused on studies and hanging out with my friends while I was growing up. Growing up, I enjoyed, reading, writing, hanging out with friends, and playing some videogames. I want to share the happiness I've had in my life with others; that is why I'm going on a mission. I was originally assigned to serve my mission in the Brazil Sao Paulo Interlagos Mission, though due to complications with my Visa, I was sent to the California Longbeach Mission. I had received my Visa when I had been on my mission for 14 months, but due to complications with my health, I have officially been reassigned to this mission. It was tough at first, but I've grown to love California as well as all the awesome people here. I know that when we submit our will to God's will, that we will be led to what we need to do, and what will be the best for us. I am grateful that I have an all knowing Heavenly Father that knows what is the best for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church; my family has allways been strong in it. I eventually prayed and began to wonder if the church was for me; after praying and reading the scriptures, I built up a personal testimony. I know that the church is true and I will continue to follow the morals and standards taught in it.

How I live my faith

I'm on my mission, training to go. I would participate in young single adult activities a lot; this includes classes and just organized activities. They can be a lot of fun! As of right now, I am a full time missionary and spend my days teaching people about the gospel and showing them how it can bless them in their lives.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Garrett Garcia
As a missionary myself, we are here to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We invite people to do things that we know will help them draw closer to God and Jesus Christ; we can do so by having faith in Jesus Christ, repenting of our sins, getting baptized, recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and then enduring to the end. We share the message of the Atonement; the fact that Jesus Christ suffered so that we could be forgiven of our mistakes and our sins. We share the Plan of Salvation; a plan that our Heavenly Father has created to allow us to not only live with him again and for all eternity, but to live with our families forever as well. We are here to help people feel God's love in their life and to help them to be happy; to share the happiness that we have gained through this gospel. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Garrett Garcia
A testimony is simply what you know to be true. We recieve a testimony when truths are confirmed unto us through the Holy Ghost. For example, I have read and prayed about the Book of Mormon, and I can say that I know it's true. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father, who watches over us and helps us when we need it. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for our sins. Through repentance, we can live with our Heavenly Father once again and we can also live with our families. I know that Joseph Smith was called as a prophet of God, to translate the Book of Mormon for us, so that we may use it's teaching to grow closer to our Savior. Show more Show less
