Hi I'm Colton

I was born & raised in Utah. I Love my family and this gospel. Team captain for my high school football team. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm very active and love the outdoors. Growing up I've been very involved in sports. I've played football, baseball, basketball, and ran sprints in track. I also love hiking and snow skiing. Football is my favorite sport and I have committed to playing college football after my mission. I have also been involved in my high school's Show/Chamber choir and fall musicals. I'm an Eagle Scout.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born & raised in the church, and for the majority of my life the reason I lived the gospel was because of my parents. It wasn't till I truly discovered for myself what this gospel meant to me that I decided to live it for myself. After an ATV (4-wheeling) accident my freshmen year my eyes were opened and I came to realize the love that God had for me and realized that he does answer our prayers. I was seriously injured and stuck in the hospital for a couple weeks, unable to move or do anything (my first day of physical therapy was just to "sit up" in my bed), and because of that it was easy to blame God for why I was in that position. But, as I thought back to my accident I saw all the things that could've gone wrong... I wasn't wearing a helmet, and in the bushes about a foot to the right of where I rolled past was a solid metal tractor bucket, and if I had hit that I surely would've died. I rolled about 45 feet personally and my ATV, 75 feet, if I had not jumped off the ATV when I began to roll, and instead rolled with it, I probably would've been crushed and killed as well. As I continued to reflect on this accident I realized how lucky I was that I was able to get away from the 4 wheeler but miss hitting my head as well, AND the first person to find me on the side of the road was a fireman! At that moment, I realized how blessed I was and that God had kept me alive for a reason. I believe that reason is to share his gospel, so that is what I am doing.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love this gospel more than anything else in my life! I love the happiness it brings and the opportunity I have to share this happiness with others. This gospel has helped me obtain so much happiness and comfort through difficult times. I do my best to live up to the example Christ set for us so that I can be a good example to those around me, and share with them the same happiness I've gained from this gospel.
