Hi I'm Ben

I'm a husband. I love to travel. I design playgrounds. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married since August 2012 to Harriet who is the most wonderful woman on earth! Before that, I graduated from Brigham Young University in Utah with a degree in Psychology. I now design and sell playgrounds to Primary Schools all over the Midlands in England. Growing up I was able to travel a lot and see a lot of Europe and other places in the world. This gave me a love for other cultures which really helped when I moved abroad to serve an LDS mission in Ireland for two years. It also helped with my move to the United States to study for four years. My main interests are: football, travelling, going to look at National Trust properties with my wife, photography and going to see shows.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was taught by good parents how to be a good Christian. It's important to me to know why I am doing things and from a very early age I would ask questions about what I was being taught. When I was a teenager I decided that it had come to the point where I needed to find out for myself whether all of this was worth pursuing. Until that point I had simply believed what my parents and church leaders were telling me. When I prayed about it, it became obvious to me that I had always known that what I was being taught was true. Since then, I have felt closer and closer to my Heavenly Father as my relationship with Him has grown. When I was 19 I decided to serve as a missionary for the church and received an assignment to serve in Ireland. While I was there I was able to meet many people from all walks of life and share things about the gospel with them. These things already meant a lot to me but seeing the effect it had on people who had never heard it before was a profound experience. Through sharing it with others, my conviction became stronger and through this service I believe I grew from boy to man. I love being a "Mormon". I love being a Christian.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping out as much as I can in my church. This is mainly through responsibilities I have in particular for the men over 18 in the Lichfield area. I do this alongside my brother-in-law, Jon, and I thoroughly enjoy serving in this capacity. I live my faith by knowing that I can't do it all by myself. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and that I can rely on my Saviour, Jesus Christ, to lift me up when I need it. Every month, I visit families in the area where I live to check on their welfare and to give them some spiritual uplift if I can. I love the families that I visit and get on really well with my assigned companion for these visits, who is an absolute legend! I live my faith by trying to be a good husband and son and, one day, by being a good father. It excites me to know that I can be with my family forever.
