Hi I'm Kourtney

I'm from Mesa, AZ. I am a student at Arizona State University. I'm serving a mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona and am the youngest of nine children. I am a student at Arizona State University and am studying to become an elementary school teacher. I currently work at an elementary school as a paraprofessional and absolutely love what I do! Some of my hobbies and interests include running, rappelling, listening to music, reading, and spending time with family and friends. I will be leaving to serve a mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil on April 10th and I couldn't be more excited! I feel so happy and blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and am looking forward to serving my Heavenly Father in this capacity.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family where the restored gospel of Jesus Christ was lived and taught. My parents taught me in my youth about the precious blessings that come from being obedient to the Savior's teachings. They encouraged me to read and study the scriptures, and to find out for myself if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was indeed the true church on the earth. I developed a testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel at a young age and knew that I indeed was a member of Christ's restored church. My faith and testimony grew over the years as I participated in seminary and other church programs. I developed a great love for the scriptures and especially for the Book of Mormon as I read and studied them. The spirit witnessed to me on several occasions that I have a father in heaven who knows me individually and loves me. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. He lives and loves each one of us. His atonement makes it possible for us to repent of our sins and return to the presence of our loving Heavenly Father. I have a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and know that Joseph Smith, through direction from Heavenly Father, reorganized Christ's church on the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God that receives direct revelation from Heavenly Father on how to direct the church. I am so excited to share my testimony of the gospel and my love for the Savior with others.

How I live my faith

I strive to follow the Savior and His teachings in all that I do. I try my best to serve my fellow men in whatever capacity I am able. I try to be the best person that I can be and to set a good example for those that I interact with at school or at work. I have had the privilege of teaching Sunday school to eleven and twelve year olds who attend my church for the past two years and have loved every second of it. My testimony has been strengthened as I have seen the love that these sweet children have for the Savior and their desire to serve Him. I now have the special opportunity to be a representative of the Savior as I serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I can't wait to share my love and testimony of Jesus Christ with others and to teach them about His restored gospel that has so richly blessed my life.
