Hi I'm Heather

I'm a small-town girl and soon-to-be missionary in the state of Ohio! I am a Mormon. I know it, I live it, I love it!

About Me

I am currently attending my first year of college and I am majoring in Biological Sciences. I hope to become a doctor someday. However, I have put my dreams on hold in order to complete a greater goal of mine, and that is to serve a mission. I have recently received my mission call and I cannot wait to share this wonderful gospel with others!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know with my whole heart that the message of this gospel is true! I am so thankful for the knowledge that I have of this. I gain strength and I feel peace each and every time that I go to church, read my scriptures and say my prayers. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ and I know that He is the true leader of this church. I know for a fact that prophets are placed here on earth to help us stay on the right path. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I know that he really did see God, the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. This gospel has been restored! There is a living prophet here on earth at this date and time, the Prophet Thomas S. Monson. When I go to the temple, I am strengthened and uplifted. I love to go to the temple; it is so peaceful there. I believe that the temple serves as a connection between heaven and earth. The spirit is so strong when I enter into the temple. I have a testimony that families can be sealed together forever in the temple. The gospel blesses families and I know that as we come closer to our Father in Heaven, the bonds between family members are strengthened so much and as a family we become closer as well. I know that Jesus Christ lives, He is the Son of God, and one day we can return to live with Him and our Father in Heaven. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to become the best person that I can be! I do my best to share this gospel with others around me because I know how much it has helped me in my life! I want others to be able to feel the same comfort, peace, joy and happiness that I have felt as a result of being a member of this gospel. These desires have led me to my decision to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is the oldest and largest women's organization in the world. On Sundays, women have the opportunity to attend Relief Society. Present in these meetings are women of all ages, these women come from all different walks of life. The beauty of Relief Society is that we are able to learn from each other, we are able to help each other and look out for each other. I have met many of my closest and dearest friends as a result of attending Relief Society. We strive to develop great Christlike attributes, lift up those around us who may be struggling, and help those who may stand in need of help. My testimony was strengthened on the power of Relief Society when we had a tragedy struck our family. My brother was in a coma for three months as a result of a 30-foot fall.My mother was with him in the hospital as often as she could. The problem with this was, that the hospital where my brother was located was two and a half hours away from our home. Even though it was such a hard time in our lives our testimonies were strengthened so much. These women were there whenever we needed them. They brought in food for our family, they comforted us, and in every way possible - they sought to help us. After my brother woke up from his coma, there was still a long road to recovery but the women from our ward's Relief Society never left our sides. They were always there for us and I believe THAT is what Relief Society is all about. Love and selfless service for those in need. Show more Show less
