Hi I'm Alissa

I grew up in Southern California. I love literature, traveling and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California. I miss Disneyland and the beach, but I love living in Utah with the beautiful mountains. I have a Bachelor's degree in English and I enjoying reading and creative writing. I worked as an Administrative Assistant after I graduated college until we had our son. Now I'm lucky to be able to stay home with him. In our free time, my husband and I love to try out new recipes, go to movies and the theater and travel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church. I have always believed in God and Jesus and I can't remember a time when I had real doubts about this church. I am a Mormon because I know it is true, and also because being a Mormon makes me happy. I am not perfect, and my life isn't perfect, but trials are easier to face when you know that you are on this earth for a reason and that you have a Heavenly Father who loves you. I also know that if I make mistakes, I have a Savior who made it possible for me to repent. I am a logical person, and though being a Mormon requires faith, the gospel just makes sense to me. The more I follow the principles of this gospel, the deeper my testimony grows. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I recently became one of the organists in my ward. I studied piano as a teenager and I am a bit out of practice, but glad to have the opportunity to learn a new instrument and improve my music skills. I also teach the 8 year olds. They are a rowdy bunch at times, but very good kids. The more I get to know them, the more I love being a teacher.
