Hi I'm Victoria

I live in Scotland. I'm a single parent. I work in the University of Dundee. I'm a mormon.

About Me

My son has Autistic Spectrum Disorder so the main part of my life is dealing with the daily challenges that brings. Each challenge met with varying degrees of success!! I enjoy music and once upon a time played the clarinet - I'm looking to get back into this. I work as a programme administrator at the University. My role is to make the students journey as smooth as possible.

Why I am a Mormon

It makes sense. I know this may sound strange but having lived Church of Scotland most of my life and not being fulfilled it's the only way I can think to describe my faith. I know the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and how it has changed my life for the better. For a while after my baptism I didn't get it all. Then one day a light bulb flicked on and I understood a lot of things. There's still room for improvement and I learn more every day through prayers, scripture study and promptings of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I was baptised in 1997 and have had two long periods of inactivity during this time. 2012 was my annus horribilus. I lost my mum and dad 10 days apart, my partner split with me and I lost my job. I found my way back to the Church. Everybody has been so supportive and I wouldn't be the person I am today without their support. My son and I are the only members of the church in my family, which is sometimes hard. I try my best every day to live as Heavenly Father would like me to. There's always room for improvement and I know that as long as I keep trying and do my best I'll be fine. I know that if I'm struggling or needing help, it's just a phone call away. I used to worry about phoning and asking for support but now I know that it's what I need to do.
