Hi I'm Mary

I'm a Mormon and love to joke about being a recovering "HIPPY" ... a flower child of the early 1970"s

About Me

My parents and my sibling joined the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS in the late 1950's I left the church in the late 60's when my spouse and I got involved in the hippy culture in the San Francisco area. After the birth of our son and divorce I dabbled in several religions. The people were wonderful but the doctrine did not ring TRUE to my mind and most importantly my heart. It was only when I decided to seek out the Missionaries of this church and listen to them concerning the Restored Gospel did I find JOY in this crazy world and the ability to endure because of the Atonement ... My journey of FAITH came home as I have now been 'active' IN the Church for 20+ years :o) I love the LORD with all my heart. I'm SO grateful for the Atonement and my spiritual growth. It is thus but a partical of matter in this Universe but it grows deeper every moment that I seek Christ and HIS WILL for me :o)

Why I am a Mormon

MORMON is a nickname for this Christian Church as these nick names describe these Churches … Baptist, Catholic, Evangelical, Lutheran etc. This "recovering "HIPPY" FEELS that JESUS CHRIST leads my life now. I KNOW that HIS Gospel has been Restored IN IT"S ENTIRITY in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. I'M SO grateful that HE teaches me HIS GOSPEL line upon line, precept upon precept AS my understanding grows. I can fulfill My ETERNAL purpose to be "Perfect even as I am Perfect" in "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints". I am SO VERY grateful that HE has made it possible for even my kindred dead to recieve the gospel. I have gone to the Temple for myself and several of MY ancestors. I have felt intense JOY and PEACE there. Last year I was sealed to my deceased parents ... My JOY at finally being a part of an Eternal Family no earthly words can describe.

How I live my faith

I am teaching (and have taught for almost 3 years) the Adult Sunday School now . I just love the scriptures and how they testify of Jesus Christ and each other. I love our female organization within the Church and their moto "Charity Never Faileth" I have learned that Charity is not just service but a STATE OF BEING as the LORD showed through out HIS ministry. One of my favorite parts of the Church is the Visiting Teaching (female) and Home Teachers (male) programs. As a single female and a senior citizen I love how they follow LORD's counsel to care for all the congregation both spiritual and physically with monthly in home visits whether you are currently active or not..
