Hi I'm Christine

I'm a student, dancer, soon-to-be missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter and (sometimes) bossy older sibling to 4 littles. I'm a student at BYU and I love to dance, play piano, and do anything and everything outdoors! Oregon peaks are home and one of my favorite places on earth. I have been called to serve as a full-time missionary in the Perú Piura Mission beginning in June 2015. I am so excited to serve The Lord and the people of Perú!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in a home where the gospel of Jesus Christ is taught and embraced. Although my life has been filled with blessings, it has not been free from trials. There have been times when the adversary has had a degrading influence on my self worth and I have doubted my purpose here on the earth. During these "ruts" I have found a sanctuary through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. By studying his words and seeking Him earnestly through prayer, I have recieved a profound understanding and appreciation for his Atoning sacrifice. He is my Friend, my Advocate, my Redeemer. I strive to live my life in such a way that I will become like Him and return to live with Him someday.

How I live my faith

The best way I've increased my faith over the years is through small, personal habits. I love searching the words of Christ, or in other words, the Bible, Book of Mormon, and words of modern-day apostles and prophets. They offer enlightenment, peace, and direction that I can't find anywhere else! Although I'm not perfect at it, I pray morning and night and try to speak to my Father in Heaven as my wise Friend, confidant, and counselor. I go to the temple, spend time in nature, serve others, and attend church meetings every week. I'm always trying to be better in those areas; they're small and simple things but they help me to come unto Christ and prepare to be a missionary!

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

There is no mortal person on the earth who can achieve eternal life through their own means. It is only by the grace of our Savior Jesus Christ, through his Atoning sacrifice, that our salvation is possible. His grace is an enabling power that gives us the strength we need to fulfill our potential as sons and daughters of God. Even after all we can do, we will always come up short. His grace makes up all of the difference. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Missionaries become vulnerable when they knock on your door, but they do it for a reason! Personally, I believe in Jesus Christ and His gospel so strongly that I want to share that message with others who haven't heard it before or who would like to learn more! Just as I have accessed His Atonement and the healing it brings, I want to teach about how others can find joy through Him. Everything we as missionaries teach centers around the Plan of Happiness, also known as the Plan of Salvation. It's a plan whereby families can be together FOREVER, which is such a wonderful knowledge and blessing. We believe that there's a fulness of the gospel that other Christian churches lack. This fulness provides so many blessings including priesthood keys, temple ordinances, and modern-day revelation. These truths have changed my life and that's why I'm willing to spend 18 months knocking on doors to share it! Show more Show less
