Hi I'm Benjamin

I finish what I start, I'm a Farm Boy, a Friend, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into the church, and from a young age I helped my Dad on our farm. We raise beef cattle as well as crops like; Alfalfa, corn, and wheat. I love to play soccer, and played on my high school team as a defensive wing. I enjoy reading and have always used my spare time to dive into the diverse places that books can take you. I grew up being busy, my time was for my Dad and Grandpa. I spent time in the summer with my cousins picking rocks out of fields, working with cattle, and doing all the little and large things that come with farm life. My free time often is spent with my cousins with whom I have grown up with as well as with good Friends. I also enjoy music and I played the trumpet all the way through school! Music is one thing I love in my life! I am Currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the New Zealand Wellington Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because it's what I want to be! Even though I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I like everyone I had to find out for myself whether or not the church was true. After tagging along with my parents I took a look within and thought about it. So I took the promise that the Book of Mormon has, after reading it on my own and desiring to know I followed a promise given in Moroni 10:3-5. I then prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was the word of God, and I received an answerer from God, and I know it to be true. So I remain true to the faith that my parents have cherished. Which goes back to my 6th great grandfather who immigrated from Switzerland to United States of America. I have found my own love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and believe it was restored in its fullness by the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that God lives, I have seen him reach out to me and others in many ways, for me often in some of the darkest and hardest of times! I cannot deny that there is a God, He is there and loves us all. I have doubted many times whether or not God was there. However through experiences and feelings which are real I have come to believe in God and his Son Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are not always going to be happy but, as I live the gospel I have found happiness and peace. It is what I have held on to, it is what I trust and hope in. I am a Mormon because I know and cherish the history of my family and the church. As I grow older my faith continues to grow and I find peace knowing that there is again a Prophet on the earth, and that we can continue to learn and draw closer to God. Becoming a better person to one day be like our Savior Jesus Christ. I hope for a better world where I may one day rest from all my worries and cares. I want to one day live with God again, where I can at long last find Eternal peace, and happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by accepting callings and assignments in the church that have been extended to me. A I have served as a missionary I have helped others as the Savior would have in their times of trial. The Savior also said that we are the light of the world, so in that sense I try to be a good example by helping others whenever I can. Being a Light includes living the standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These standards are the things that Christ encouraged us to live by. Being kind, patient, and peaceful are some of them. I also pray morning and night as well as whenever I need help or whenever I just feel like talking to God. I am always trying to improve and be the best I can, whether it is by studying the words of the prophets and apostles or helping others, I'm just trying to be the best that I can be. I always try to keep a positive attitude even thorough it is extremely hard to do at times. I Try to have a smile on my face, and live as the Savior would! In saying that I know I am not perfect, and that also means that when I mess up I try to make things right! These are some of the things that make me who I am today. I guess the the best way to say it is that I am striving to change!
