Hi I'm Taylor

I'm serving a mission in North Carolina. I speak Spanish. I work hard. I sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a small town boy. I'm on a mission in The Virginia Chesapeake mission, Spanish speaking. I was trained in the new MTC (CCM) in Mexico City. I am now 19 years old. I have been in Goldsboro, NC; Greenville, NC; The Eastern Shore of Virginia (the Virginia part of Delmarva); Kinston, NC; Smithfield NC; and Mt. Olive, NC. It has been a great learning experience. My former life consisted of going to High School; wrestling & placing 5th at state my senior year, I also went to wrestling nationals in Fargo, ND, then Place 2nd in both Freestyle and Greco styles at the state level, I also went on to go to place 5th at Western Regionals in Idaho for Greco-Roman and Freestyle styles; I played football for Box Elder High School as the Center, we went to the play-offs my senior year; I did choir for 5 years in school; I also was a good student. And while in High school you try to be an example of the Believers, even among a large population of Latter-day Saints. My parents raised me well. I wasn't the greatest at obedience, but they loved me and made sure I had all the things necessary for me to grow and develop. I'm also trying to live my religion to the fullest, while on a mission. It is hard, because the Lord requires your all no matter where you're at. I try and strive each day to give a perfect effort. I will make mistakes, but if give a tenacious effort every hour of every waking moment the Lord will make up the rest. For the Lord gives and takes. I love him. I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the church and raised me in the church. Now because that happened that doesn't mean that my testimony isn't my own. I have gained a testimony and have worked hard to keep that fire within myself. Everyone has a turning point in their lives, I had that and wanted to be a active participant in the church. So I did, I started when I was 11, when I acted for myself. I had the turning spiritual point in my life. After that I wanted more, so I moved up and had those spiritual experiences. But the main reason why I am a missionary and an active Mormon is because I know Jesus Christ suffered and died for me, and because of that truth I strive to live the commandments. And although I don't know everything I take those steps in the dark so that I can see a little further ahead. We won't know unless we do. That's why I'm a Mormon, because I took the Chance to do what the Lord told me to. I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I'm serving a mission for the Lord. Living His laws and lifestyles 24/7 so that others can be helped by what missionaries do. This consists of reading the Standard works of the Church: the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. We try to place our studies in the Lord's hands. So we ask Him, "What do I need to teach someone today? or What shall I say to someone in need of my words?" Then if we have investigators we say, "What shall I teach them? or what specifics do they need to know about our lesson plan?" So as we begin our day we pray, and before we study we pray. We pray over everything, because firstly God created all things, secondly because it says in the scriptures that when you pray over anything it shall be consecrated unto the Lord. Then after a personal study we study with our companion, talking about the plans we have to teach people and where to go. Now I am a different missionary, I'm in in the states but I speak Spanish. So we study Spanish for an hour (all of these studies constitute a whole hour). Then we go out and work (talk to people, teach people, do service, and make appointments). Then we get home and plan our next day. Then we have an hour before we go to sleep. In that time we talk to each other or read church approved books, and write in our journals. Then we go to bed and get up and do it again, even on Sunday. It is hard, but refreshing; because the Lord pays His servants well.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Taylor
We missionaries pay our own way. Many of us work before the 2 years of allotted time for a mission. If not we ask the Lord how we are going to be able to serve a mission, if we want. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Taylor
We come to know our Heavenly Father personally by reading the scriptures and coming to Him in prayer. We should come to Him in time of crisis and in time of plenty. Many find Him when in time of Crisis. It is great that they come unto Him, but more blessed are they that come and humble themselves before they are compelled to know the Father and repent. If you are investigating the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints you should go to the full-time missionaries to know more about God, our Heavenly Father, and come to know how and why he loves you.
