Hi I'm Matt

I'm a tennis player, aspiring marathon runner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into the LDS church. I have some of the best parents you could ever imagine. I think we should look at every day as a gift and live life to its fullest. I really enjoy a lot of different sports. I like to run, play tennis and ride my bike around the neighborhood. I'm really looking forward to going to college after I serve an LDS mission to the people of Hungary, and at some point along the way learn how to speak Hungarian. I'm not really sure what I want to do with my life after my mission, but I'm planning on attending college when I return to pursue further education. Music is a huge part of my life. I love to listen to my favorite band or artist when I go for a run or ride my bike.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not a huge planner. I have no clue what awaits me down the road. But what I do have is a knowledge of a plan that our Heavenly Father has for each and every one of us. I know that he knows me by name, and that he wants me to do my very best in this life. He's given us tools to help us through this life, like the scriptures and prayer to help us communicate with him. There is no other way that I would give away two years of my life to serve a mission unless I absolutely knew that what I will be teaching is true. I know I have a testimony, and it has blessed my life in so many ways. It has comforted me in ways that nothing else can. It has helped me through trials, and has helped me to know how to be able to best help others through theirs. The only way to find true happiness is by keeping the commandments and allowing God to bless us for it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply LIVING IT. The guidelines have been set by Heavenly Father, we just have to follow him. I have the opportunity to lead some of the young men in my ward, and it is so important to lead by example. I do my best to not only read but to study my scriptures daily. They hold so much truth and example for us to follow, we just have to search them a little bit sometimes to find it. I also live my faith by praying daily. Each day I set aside just a few minutes to tell my Heavenly Father thank you for everything he has given us. He gave us this entire world, we can give him two minutes every day. God wants to hear our prayers. He is interested in what happens in our lives, and I know that he can communicate back to us through personal revelation as well as modern day prophets. There are a lot of times at school or at a friend's house where we are listening to music or watching a movie and if it has some type of swearing or anything else, my friends will immediately apologize because they know about the rules I choose to live by. I know that choosing to keep the commandments now will bless me eternally.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ set the ultimate example for all of us on his time here on Earth. He also paid the ultimate price for us through the Atonement. Through the Atonement, Christ took upon himself all of the sins of the world. He felt every sickness, sorrow or pain for each and every one of us. Because Christ did this, it gives us the ability to repent. To erase our wrongdoings of the past, and commit to living the commandments in the future. To increase our faith in Jesus Christ we can use the wonderful gift of the Atonement in our lives. If we allow its healing power to fill our souls and testify of Jesus Christ, we can gain stronger faith in Christ as well as gain a closer relationship with him. I have no idea where I would be without my Savior. He has given us the second chance that we all need to be the best we can be. Show more Show less
