Hi I'm Spencer Jones

I'm a Mormon. I am serving a mission in the Kentucky Louisville mission! I want to become a Photo Journalist or a doctor.

About Me

I'm on my mission! I am serving in the Louisville Kentucky mission, and I have truly never been happier in my life. I get to serve people and help bring people closer to Christ. And because of that, I myself am growing closer to Christ every day. I would not want to be anywhere else at this time in my life. Some of my hobbies are piano playing, longboarding, snowboarding, photography, and lots of reading. Well, reading when I was not on my mission... But now I read the Book of Mormon! I am beginning to appreciate that book so much more.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I love being a Mormon is for a lot of reasons. One reason is the fact that I know it has saved my life, as I am sure many others will tell you. But without Christ's atonement, I would certainly not be the person I am today. I truly know that Christ atoned for all our pain, be it mental or physical. He understands completely. I also love being a Mormon because I know it is the Church with the fullness of the truth. It gives me great gratitude to think that I am a part of it, and it makes me incredibly happy to think that those whom I love and know that are not Mormon can become one and attain an eternal family.

How I live my faith

The most important way I can live my faith, right now, right here, is by being a missionary and showing how much I love God. Even though two years seems like a long time from here, I know It is only a short amount of time that I have to devote my life to bringing people to Christ through the baptism. So I try to show my faith day to day by talking to everyone about my faith and striving to teach with the spirit. I hope to retain this attitude when I return from my mission as well, and I am going to raise my family the way my parents raised me: as good examples in the Church, love, and lots of goofing off.

What is the First Vision?

Spencer Jones
If you gain a testimony of the first vision, than everything else in our church fall into place. The first vision is the first thing I was sure of in my life. By knowing it was true, and that Joseph Smith really saw our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ in the flesh, my entire life has rotated around that truth. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know it with all my heart, and I will never be able to deny it. I would invite you to pray out loud to our Father in Heaven and ask Him with all sincerity and honesty if Joseph Smith really did see God the Father and Jesus Christ, and if the LDS church is the Christ's church restored on the Earth once more.
