Hi I'm Sarah Phelps

I go to BYU. Apiring ESL teacher. I'm a proud Texan. Family is life. Served an LDS mission in Santa Maria Brasil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a hard-working college student who is studying to become an English teacher for non-native speakers of English. I love learning new things like playing guitar and piano, but more than that I like teaching others new things and seeing them accomplish hard things. I recently recently returned from serving a full-time service mission, for the Church of Jesus Christ, in Santa Maria Brazil where I shared the message of Jesus Christ with the Brazilian people who I have grown to know and love. Brasil ainda tem uma parte do meu coração. I am the oldest of five kids and love watching them grow-up and become amazing people who always push me to be better. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and am so grateful for all of the blessings that I have in my life. I cannot imagine being truly happy and having the life that I do without the promised blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that He came to this earth to not only die for us, but to set an example for each of us to follow in our own lives. I am grateful for His obedience to God and His willingness to suffer for each and everyone of us so that we can fulfill our potential. I am grateful that God has given us a prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson. I know that he is called of God just as the young Joseph Smith was called of God. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and was able to translate the Book of Mormon through the power that they so lovingly gave him. I know that the Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ and know that the Book of Mormon along with the Bible teach us many great and marvelous truths that we must live by. I am so grateful for my family and the knowledge that I have that I can be with my parents and my brothers and sisters forever. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and know that it contains the truths of God. I believe in Jesus Christ, and I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

"By small and simple things are great things brought to pass." -Alma 37:6 It has been over a year since I took off my missionary name tag and became Sarah instead of Sister Phelps. Being a missionary was the best thing that ever happened to me and changed me in ways I didn't know were possible. I learned more about who Jesus Christ really was and is and I learned how to be more like Him. By reading my scriptures, praying, going to church, serving others, taking care of my church assignments, and sharing my light with others I am able to continue my progression in order to become the best "me" that I can be. I have also had the wonderful opportunity to serve in the Provo Temple and be a part of the inspiring peace that can be felt in, what we as Mormons consider to be, the Lord's house. I live my faith by making sure that I am able to feel God's powerful peace in my life at all times.
