Hi I'm Keith

I grew up in Sparatnburg, S.C. I worked 40 years in the Telecomunications fiield! I am a Genealogist and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I live on a small farm. I had a very long and succesful career in Telecomunications. I'm retired now and have started a second career researching and writing Civil War novels. I am currently working on my second book. I'm married to a most ingenious women. She has always been able to do any thing and she is my best friend! We have 5 children 19 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren with another on the way. I'm also involved in preserving records in our area for genealogical research. I love to travel and visit my children and grandchildren

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I truly believe in the teachings of our Church. I grew up in the Methodist Church. It was a smal Church and we had no sports activities so in the summer I attended the Baptist Church so I could play baseball. It was seven years after I married my wife before I joined the Church. I took the discussion several times. We lived in Atlanta, Georgia when I joined the Church. Our family had a great home teacher who became a good friend to me. I was in an auto accident and after being treated at the hospital I was sent home to recuperate. My home teacher came to check on me and make sure I was ok. He asked if I wanted a blessing and I told him ok it couldn't hurt! He told me it wouldn't do any good if I didn't truly beleive! It clicked, he was right! I did believe and shortly thereafter I was Baptized. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. His attoining sacrifice will allow me to return to Heavenly Father some day. I know that my wonderful wife and I will be together forever with the rest of our family. I have a testimony of searching for our kindred dead and preparing their names for Temple work.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings in the Church. I've served as a Stake Missionary, First Counselor to the Bishop, Finance Clerk, Ward Clerk. Extraction Worker, Family History Consultant, Family History Director, 2nd Counselor to the Branch President. I currently am involved in preserving funeral home records, newspaper obituaires, and filming tombstones to preserve them for others to research their ancestors. I enjoy working with patrons to our Family History Center and enjoy helping them locate their ancestors. We recently were involved in community project for our city researching and finding information on the people buried in the city owned cemetery which had little or no records! A team from our congregation and others from the Family History Center joined in to provide enough information to fill two tree inch binders!
