Hi I'm Jordan J

I'm a Babysitter, Older Brother, Friend, Dancer, Actor & a Student in the University that is Life. Oh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 19-year-old guy who loves his friends, loves his family, and loves the Gospel. I'm currently serving a mission in the Australia Sydney Mission, but before that I was an active member in the Escapee's Theatre Company, and absolutely love acting on stage. I love the thrill and excitement of losing yourself to a character. I love making people laugh, but I'm not one for stand-up comedy. I've also loved dance for almost all my life, and have studied Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contempory and Ballroom. I'm a social person and very at home in a party / dance environment, although preferably without alcohol. I'm the oldest of four boys and love spending time with children. I find great joy in helping others, and strive to be a positive influence and role model on those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't always the strong person I am today. I went through a period where I drew away from the church to pursue my own interests, because I didn't have a deeply founded belief that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was true. I filled my life with shallow distractions and temporal 'happiness'. It was a dark period of my life that I often prefer not to remember. I found myself at one point wanting to know who I was. I prayed to Heavenly Father to help me to know who I was, and through his love and grace I came to know that I was a beloved son of him, that the Church was true and that my life did have a purpose. I made some significant changes in my life and lifestyle which included abandoning certain friends and associates and replacing them with ones who would support me in my endeavor to be a better person. Today I know of the joy that comes from living the Gospel. I know that no worldly distraction or recreation can replace the true joy from knowing who I am, what I'm meant to do, and where I will go after this life. I also know, that in all my trials and struggles, no temporary unhappiness can affect that joy. No matter what happens to disappoint, hurt or upset me, I will always have the light in my soul. The reason I chose to serve a mission was to be able to bring that eternal joy to other people, and see it change their lives, as it did mine. Even being away from my family, and loved ones, for longer then I ever have before, I have the blessing of the knowledge that no matter what happens in this life, we will be together in the eternities. What could possibly be better then that?

How I live my faith

I strive to do the best I can in all aspects of my life to live as a true representative of Jesus Christ. I aim to be honest in all my dealings and live above reproach - so that anyone who doesn't know me can look at me and see the good person I'm trying to be. I'm not perfect, I fall far short of that, but I am making a regular, consistent effort to be the best person I can be, and help, support and strengthen those around me. I've been blessed with a close group of friends who also support me in this and I truly try to make it so that my presence in the world will make the world a better place. Cheesy much?
