Hi I'm Amy

I love music, art, and American Sign Language. I am studying to be a teacher. I love to laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying to become an elementary school teacher. It is my dream to teach art and music. I grew up in a family that loves to be gathered around the piano singing together. I love to draw, paint or create any sort of art that is happy and uplifting. When my hands aren't creating art, they are communicating through American Sign Language; I have a passion for ASL and I am working to improve my signing skills every day. I love having fun and being with children; I want to be a postitive influence in the lives of my students.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church but I feel like my heart has had its own conversion. I have always loved the gospel and I am so thankful to my parents for raising me in an environment where I could develop my own testimony. Growing up, my parents always taught my siblings and me about the Plan of Salvation and that we could be together as a family even after we die. This doctrine is very important to my family because my older sister passed away as a baby because of a heart defect. Because of my faith in the Plan of Salvation, I know that she is still my sister and I will be with her after I die if I follow Christ and live the gospel. When I was a teenager, my older brother died in a car accident. My faith in the Plan of Salvation gave me hope through the bitter heartache of his passing. I know I will see him again one day and that knowledge helps me be happy today. It also makes me want to be a better person. I know I can become better every day because when I make mistakes I can repent and move forward. All this is possible because of Christ and His Atonement. Christ's suffering also means He can comfort me when I am sad becuase He knows exactly how I feel. I love my Savior. The gospel brings me so much happiness and I know it is true. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My love of music has given me the opportunity to serve as a music chorister and choir director at church. I love praising God with music that is peaceful and uplifting. I have also served working with the sisters of the chuch by helping them come closer to their Savior, Jesus Christ, and helping them understand that they are daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. I am currently serving as a full-time missionary. I want everyone to be able to experience the joy I have from living the gospel. The gospel is the only reason that I can smile and laugh every day even when hard things happen. Smiling every day and helping make others smile is how I live my faith.
