Hi I'm Kathleen Seay

I grew up in Arkansas, Saudi Arabia, and Vermont. I love to laugh, go a little crazy, and have FUN. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently a college student trying to figure out what it is I want to do with my life. I am studying sociology and hope to one day be a social worker in a correctional facility. I love photography, tv shows, being with friends and family and sleeping (appropriately so as I am in college). I don't think I could live without music be it singing or just listening. It's one of my greatest passions. All in all I love to help people, I love to talk, and I love to listen. And I can't forget that I love to laugh. That's me!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well I was born into this faith. My parents are both Mormon so naturally I was raised Mormon. I went to church every Sunday. I did everything that I was supposed to do. I got baptized when I was 8 years old, the typical age. When I was younger I never doubted the the church wasn't true. I never doubted that Christ wasn't the savior. I never doubted that my Heavenly Father loved me and was my father. These concepts all came second nature to me. I can still say today that I have never doubted the teachings and basic doctrine of the church. I'd like to say that because of this I have never done anything wrong or that I am perfect now. But that is far from the case. In my high school career I changed. I questioned things in my life and wondered where I would end up. My friends were changing and developing new beliefs of their own. Things that I wasn't necessarily comfortable with. See, the gospel to me has always been a common sense thing. I live the teachings because when I do, everything goes better and I feel at peace. Why would anyone want to feel any differently? As the years went on in high school though I started to put the gospel in second place to school. School and friends became more important to me than church and family. I felt alone and confused. I didn't know who I was. So I decided to read my scriptures more, pay attention in church more, make an honest effort. And things changed. I can tell you no that I know without a doubt that this church is true. I know my Heavenly Father loves me and knows exactly what I am going through and that if I just ask he will help me. I know that Christ is my savior and died for me so that I could repent and live with him again. I testify to you that the gospel can change your life. It is the last piece of the puzzle and I am so grateful to have it in my life. I don't know where I would be today without the gospel and it's teachings. There is nothing more precious, more sacred, more true in this world.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. Right now I have the privilege of serving my church community through missionary work. I'm on a committee that is responsible for making sure that people feel connected in the church. We fellowship and help those in need. Last year I had the opportunity to serve with the young women of my church. I was a class president and also the oldest so I got to be an example to the younger girls which helped me grow and learn more about the gospel as well as help them.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Kathleen Seay
The law of chastity is something comes up a lot in high school, college, and with friends. My friends never really understood why I wasn't having sex. But they didn't view sex the same way I did. To me, sex one of the most sacred acts that we can participate in. God gave up the power to create life. He gave men and women the opportunity to be a part of something so special we should not abuse it. It is important that sex be within the bond of marriage because only then can we truly feel the blessings and peace that come from being involved with the person you love the most and know you will spend eternity with. By keeping the law of chastity I have been able to avoid pregnancy scares, unwanted diseases, heartache and much more. I am keeping my self clean for my future husband. Someone once told me that you would never give your husband a half eaten, half chewed sandwich right? It's the same with your body. Heavenly Father gives us these commandments to stay morally clean for a reason. He cares for us and wants us to be happy. I can testify to you that keeping the law of chastity has been one of the greatest blessing in my short life. Show more Show less
