Hi I'm Grace

I am preparing to serve in the Oregon Eugene mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to cook and eat. Food is beautiful to me. I love being outdoors and marveling at the beauty of this world. I love exercising (weightlifting, jogging, hiking, swimming, biking, long boarding, roller blading, etc.), art, writing, colors, animals, children, and studying. I enjoy working with people and doing humanitarian work. I have been to Kenya twice (with a humanitarian group) and am looking forward to taking part in many more humanitarian expeditions in the future across the world! I am attending school at the University of Utah. My major is Psychology.. for now. I am interested in many things. I love to learn!

Why I am a Mormon

It wasn't until I left my family and moved to a big city in Canada that I found my testimony of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was raised in a Mormon family but struggled with many personal issues. As a troubled teenager, I decided to let go of my past and get away in order to figure out what I really wanted in life. While I was in Canada, I chose to give the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints another chance. I approached each Sunday service at the church very critically, trying to find reason to never go back to church. For some reason I continued returning to church. A woman in the ward regularly visited and taught me principles of the gospel. Whenever she entered my apartment, a great feeling of peace entered into my heart. When she was visiting with me, the things she taught me felt familiar and right. As my heart began to soften, I realized that I didn't have to live in the past, that I had an opportunity to move forward and progress. I began to feel my Heavenly Father's love. I had a powerful desire to be with my family forever and further understand the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is a BIG thing for me. I know that this book is true. I feel safe and prepared for whatever challenges lie ahead, because I know that if I am on the Lord's side He will help me through anything. Because of the gospel, I have been able to feel at peace with myself and those around me. Because of the gospel, I am no longer anxious, depressed or afraid. I know that my Savior lives. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us! He wouldn't want us to be left in the dark. He has given us access to modern day prophets who will guide us and lead us to safety! I believe that Joseph Smith did, indeed, see The Father and The Son. Joseph Smith did, indeed, translate the Book of Mormon, by the gift and power of God. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints offers the FULLNESS of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a Young Women's advisor in my family ward. I am preparing to serve a full-time mission!
