Hi I'm Ruth

I live in a beautiful part of Scotland, I turned my life around for the better, I am a Mormon :)

About Me

I am a mother, and a professional face and body artist, and most recently a carer. I was introduced to the Church at the age of 40'ish. although I have always believed that there is a God and that he sent his only beloved son, Jesus Christ to Earth so that we could be saved. This I have known to be true from the age of 10. My Parents weren't very religious, but they sent us to 'Sunday School' every week.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church because the thought of starting afresh really appealed to me. I had been living a life where I was very unhappy and couldn't see a way to redeem it, I knew I had made some bad choices and somehow became stuck! I was at a very dark point of my life. Two cheerie faces knocked on my door one afternoon and I knew that it was meant to be. Why my door at that particular time? I invited them in and they shared a message and left me the Book of Mormon. I don't know why I hadn't investigated this book before, I had looked into other religions when growing through my teenage years, but never 'Mormon'. I didn't get baptised strait away, although I had set a date, but I knew the truth. I thought I could manage on my own. It was 4 years later and another set of missionaries, before I was ready to fully commit. I read the introduction with a clear mind, and was blown away with what I felt was the urgent importance of this book. I obviously skipped this part first time around! It is the best feeling to know you have been forgiven for your errors, and to feel the genuine love from members of my Church. My life is so much brighter these days, I didn't think was possible at one point. I am so grateful for the mission work. I live my life now by trying my best to follow the commandments and knowing that help, comfort and reassurance is only a prayer away.

How I live my faith

I attend Church as regularly as I can, I'm usually running late, but this is something I am trying to correct!! I have recently been helping in teaching the young women of our Church which is very exciting as it is a new challenge for me. I'm looking forward to learning from them too. At first I didn't talk much about the Church to my 'old' friends, as I thought they found it strange, now I'm happy to answer questions, and encourage them to attend.
