Hi I'm Parker

I was born in Hawaii, grew up in Singapore, a college student at Stanford University, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 5, the eldest of 3 siblings. I am a college student majoring in Chemical Engineering, with a deep interest in the area of fluid dynamics, and hope to improve current energy systems and processes after I graduate. I love sports, especially competitive swimming, and have been swimming competitively for more than half my life. I love being part of a team, and reaping the rewards of hours of dedication and hard work. One of my favorite hobbies is traveling. I have had the opportunity of living in 3 countries - Australia, the US and Singapore - and have travelled to many parts Asia, Australia and the United States. It is always a great experience learning about the histories and cultures of different people, and trying to understand the way that people view the world around them.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has blessed my life and the lives of my family. Because of the restoration of the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have the opportunity to live with my loving family for all time and eternity. The gospel has helped me know my Savior, Jesus Christ, better as a friend and a brother, and has helped me become a better individual, both spiritually and temporally. I have been able to grow in faith and receive the strength that I needed during some of my most difficult trials because I have become closer to my Savior through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There are many decisions that we will have to make and many challenges that we will have to face during this life, and through our Savior, we can overcome anything.

How I live my faith

I attend the Singles Ward near my university and serve in the Elders quorum and the Latter-day Saints Student Association (LDSSA) committee. As part of the LDSSA committee, I am involved in organizing the weekly Family Home Evenings on Mondays for the college students on campus. It is always uplifting to hear the testimonies of those who share the spiritual message because it allows me time to reflect on the personal spiritual experiences that I have had, and reaffirm my belief in the gospel. As a priesthood holder, I am also a hometeacher, and visit some members of the ward every month, something I truly enjoy doing. Everyone has a story, and we are all here on earth to strengthen each other in the gospel, and help one another on our journey through this life.
