Hi I'm Andrew Pickering

I am a husband and a father, and I work for a charity which cares for sick children. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 22 years old and in my last year at Oxford University, where I studied Spanish and French. I did not have any religious experience or leaning before that, but I had some amazing spiritual experiences which led me to know that God is real, that He cares about me, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I work in a charity which cares for children with life limiting and life threatening conditions. I am married and have a young son; becoming a dad has been the best experience in my life. I enjoy foreign languages, travel, football, rugby and running marathons (although not very fast!).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a deep conviction that God is real, that Jesus Christ is His only begotten Son and that He is the Saviour of all mankind. What this means day-to-day is that I try to be a good person. Joining the Church at 22 has shaped the course of the rest of my life, and it is a decision that I am so pleased I made, and that I stuck with.

How I live my faith

For me, living my faith is first and foremost about trying my best to be a kind person. In our home we try our best to create an atmosphere of love and peace, and to be an example to others of people who centre their lives around the teachings of Jesus.
