Hi I'm Jacob Beckett

I grew up in Roy, Utah. I love going out and trying new things. I love playing/watching sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports. I like to think I am a really out going person. I played sports all throughout my childhood. I did football, tennis, track, soccer, basketball, baseball, swimming and just any sport that I could play. My senior year I was a Student Body Officer as well as one of the captains on my football team. Now that I am graduated I love to go mountain biking as well as other outdoor activities. My friends and I love to go to cross fit and go on adventures. I am really close to my family. They are my best friends. We travel in and out of the country a lot. I have been to over 10 different countries. I am currently serving a mission in Tokyo, Japan.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the gospel and I have always been a member of the church. I had to gain my own testimony of the church. One experience that helped me gain a testimony of the church happened one Easter Sunday. Right before we were about to eat my grandpa had a heart attack. Right as soon as we realized what was going on my brother, dad and I carried my grandpa into the next room. Immediately we gave my grandpa a blessing and started to perform CPR. We were able to keep his heart going until the paramedics arrived. When we arrived at the hospital the nurse told us that it was a miracle that my grandpa was still alive. She said that even at a hospital they usually don't reach the patient in time when they have that kind of heart attack. I knew right then that my grandpa was still alive because of the priesthood blessing. This experience really opened my eyes and made me know that the church is true. From this experience my testimony had grown tremendously and I finally made the decision to serve a mission.

How I live my faith

Every winter if someone has not shoveled their walks my dad, brother and I will go over and shovel it for them. About once a year our church puts on a service project for our whole community to participate in. For this project we will usually clean up walkways or we improve certain parts of our city. I have had callings in my church that allow me to go out and serve people in my area as well as help organize events that bring the community together.
