Hi I'm Ann

Born in England, now living in beautiful South Wales and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm married with a son and we both have Asperger's Syndrome, which can make life quite interesting at times. Before marrying and after serving a mission in the South of England, I changed my employment from being a legal secretary to being a Nanny/Housekeeper and found I was a lot happier with less money and a lot more fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church because a young missionary's prayer, on my behalf, was answered before the two of them left my home after teaching me about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I was home ill, when they knocked at the door and went to open it and tell them I didn't want to know. It was pouring with rain and I was getting wet so I asked them in - to my surprise! During our chat, they asked what was wrong with me, so I explained I was in pain. They then asked could they open with a prayer and asked Heavenly Father specifically for my body to be healed and work as it should. I thought it was nice of a young man to do that for me but didn't think anymore about it until I got up to see them out later, having agreed to learn more. I walked back into the lounge and realised I was stood upright for the first time that day and had no pain, despite being over an hour late taking my meds. Those missionaries had something and I had felt it. I knew then there was a lot more I needed to learn about the Church and when the missionaries asked me to pray about whether what they had taught me was the truth, I did so and felt the confirmation of the Holy Ghost for myself.

How I live my faith

I love helping people, being anxiously engaged in any good cause, like helping to raise funds to send my friend's son to America for surgery by giving my neighbours tubes of Smarties to eat and then fill with coins - our neighbours were amazingly supportive. A couple of us are doing Race 4 Life later this year and I rang my friend who works with the young women at church and suggested perhaps we could invite the young women to do the 5K Twilight walk with us "oldies" to build bonds between us and share a really fun evening together - she thought it was a fabulous idea and felt we were both being inspired along similar lines.
