Hi I'm Michael

I've lived in the Midwest for most of my life. I love films and music. I'm a student at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey, I'm Michael! I am currently in the Missionary Training Center, training to be a missionary in Brazil! I have finished my freshman year at Brigham Young University. I was born in Nebraska, and lived in Ohio and Missouri for most of my life. I graduated high school in May 2012, in the top 10 percent of my class. In high school, I was heavily involved in multiple organizations, including band, choir, the business club, academic team, and drama club. I absolutely love to perform, and I try to do so anytime that I can. In high school, I would join every honor band and honor choir possible, along with plays. Even in places where I wasn't supposed to perform, such as academic team, I'd love to be as entertaining as possible. This has carried over into college, where I've performed as a stand-up comedian at a couple open mic nights, along with performing original songs wherever I've been able to. I also have always loved to write since I was a little boy. I used to write one page poems and stories, and try to sell them to my family members. My love for writing has stayed strong, winning multiple writing contests throughout high school. Aside from this, I also love to watch movies, read, make people laugh, and listen to all sorts of different music.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for one simple reason: I've seen the love that Jesus Christ gives to me through the gospel. Just like everybody else, I am human and make mistakes. It's simply a part of life. But I've always been the type of person to try and go through life as well as I can and progress and grow. Without a doubt, the Atonement of Jesus Christ has helped me in this lifelong progression more than anything else. When I fall, I feel our Savior's love help me back up, and I feel like I can keep on going. I know that God lives, and he knows each of us and loves each of us. I know that Jesus Christ loves us all individually, so incomprehensibly large that he would die for us all with his great sacrifice. I know that, even if I don't deserve it, Christ loves me enough that he would condescend and give himself up. I also know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it was translated correctly through the Prophet Joseph Smith for the purpose of saving our souls in these Latter days. I know that the keys of prophecy have since been passed down through the prophets, all the way to our prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson. I know that, if we live our lives to the best of our abilities, the Atonement of Christ will cover our trespasses and our shortcomings. Christ gives us so much, and whatever little things I can do to pay Him back, even though they will never be enough. I am so excited to serve Him in Brazil. I have seen the Atonement work miracles in my life, and I am so ecstatic to present this opportunity to others.

How I live my faith

I absolutely love to live my faith. Throughout high school I volunteered for my church wherever possible, helping organize youth events for the church and leading youth groups. Since going to college, I've joined a student ward, and I teach a weekly Sunday School class to fellow students. I absolutely love teaching and discussing the gospel with my peers, having us learn from each other and grow together to love Jesus Christ. I also try to serve when I can, volunteering occasionally. I also have tried to be as good of an example as I can be, attempting to live the standards of the gospel and preach it unto others. Starting in August, I will be living as a representative of Jesus Christ for two years as I serve a mission in Brazil, trying to help others come unto Christ.
