Hi I'm Alice

I'm a missionary in the south of England, I am a qualified nurse and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I qualified as a staff nurse in 2012. I was working on a resipratory/cardio ward. I worked there for two years and then was called on a misison! I am currently serving in the London South area. I have never been so happy serving the Lord and helping others stregthen their knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ. At home I have a very big family. My parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 1 brother in law, 2 sister-in-laws, 4 nieces and 3 nephews...PHEW. I also have one niece or nephew on the way!! I love my family dearly they are the most important thing in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of The church of Jesus of Latter day Saints. My mum and dad were converted when they were newlywed. As I grew up being a member was a way of life. I never questioned, it was a part of my life, going to church on a Sunday, that Jesus loved me. As I got older I questioned why am I here? Why am I me? Through time, maturity and studying the teachings of our Saviour I knew for myself that I had always known these answers from being small. The difference is now I am strong my conviction that every day I wake up knowing I have a father in heaven who loves me and has a plan for me. I have felt his protection through my life. Life isn't easy but its easier knowing your not alone. Being a member of the church is the best part of my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith inside and outside. What I learn from the inside reflects my image on the outside. I know that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me, so I know that I have a purpose and a plan on this earth. Attending church each Sunday helps me renew and strengthen this knowledge. I have been so blessed to be raised in a home based around learning about Jesus Christ and his teachings. I want to live what he taught and teach this to my future family also.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

The prophet today is a man called Thomas S. Monson. Some people may say 'but how do you know he is a prophet?' Or 'why do you need to listen to someone else to get answers from God?'. These statements are a misunderstanding of who President Monson is. Throughout biblical history you can see that worthy men have been called as Prophets to assist the Lord in moving the word forward on the earth, for example Moses. God still speaks to his children today. He loves us just as he loved the people who lived when the Prophet Moses waked the earth. Although I can speak directly to God and gain my own answers to prayers and concerns for myself personally. President Monson and those who have gone before him receive answers on behalf of the world. For example a few years ago the Prophet taught us we needed to get out of debt. Not so long after we entered into the big 'credit crunch'. If my family had not listened to these words we would be in terrible debt now, not being able to see a way out. I thank the Saviour that he spoke to his servant the prophet and spoke these wise words. There is a way you can know he is a prophet of God. Listen to his words. Pray to know form Heaven;y Father if they are true and if he truly is a prophet of God. I testify that he is! In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Show more Show less
