Hi I'm Elaine

mother of 2, support worker, home maker and home baker.

About Me

I enjoy making things: crafty or yummy. I'd have a house full of animals if possible. Children deserve our time, consideration and respect and I enjoy listening and speaking to them. Being a mother has been a wonderful experience. Past tense? well, I'm lurching through the teenage years at the moment, it'll get better, I'm sure :)

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church when I was so young I can't remember not going to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They were contacted by missionaries and eventually made the decision to join. When I was a teenager, I wanted to know for myself whether the church was true. I took a course studying the Book of Mormon. I struggled to understand the words I was reading. I began to pray desiring to know if it was true. 100 pages in and suddenly the words I read became crystal clear to me. I understood what I read and my heart burned with the recognition that the Book of Mormon was a true book and the church was indeed true too. My heart changed, my focus changed and my deepest desire was to build up the church and align myself to the teachings of the gospel. As I've done so I've felt the atoning sacrifice of the Saviour in my life. It's made life's downs easier to bear. It's helped me to recognise the important things that I want to achieve. It's given me opportunities to serve and help people around me who I know God loves whether they are members of my family, the church, or not. I believe the restored church of Jesus Christ is on the earth and am grateful to be a part of it.

How I live my faith

I have always enjoyed serving in church callings, be it with young children or, as at present, the youth. I love to teach them about the Saviour's life and mission, about living well, about the gospel of Jesus Christ and knowing that the Holy Spirit is witnessing that it's true, to me and to them.
