Hi I'm Mariah

I'm a wife and new mother. I'm working on my degree in elementary education. I love swimming and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town with two siblings, my mother, my father and our dog. I love the outdoors - swimming, going for walks, playing frisbee. I enjoy reading, particularly historical novels and mystery books. I love music, dancing, baking and making cards. I earned my black belt in martial arts and took piano lessons for several years. I taught swimming lessons and life guarded as a summer job for several years. I also worked at a preschool. I graduated from an online private high school. I am a college student in my third year studying elementary education. I am a wife and a new mother to a little baby boy.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents joined the Church as young adults, so I was born a member of the Church. I love that the Church focusing on really being a good, Christ-like person - not just acting or pretending to be one. I love that being a member of the Church means finding a lot of people who share my beliefs. I can feel comfortable no matter where I go in the world. I especially appreciate that as a member of the Church, I can gain a personal witness and understanding of the truth. I can know for myself.

How I live my faith

I help out with various service opportunities like bringing meals to new mothers, helping people move, visiting other women in our congregation to brighten their day and make sure they are doing okay. I have coordinated activies for small groups of single college students in my congregation.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a book of scripture, similar to the Bible. It is a record of God's relationship and interactions with the people on the American continent. It also includes Christ's visit to them after His death and resurrection. It includes the words of God's leaders and is still applicable today. Show more Show less
