Hi I'm Brandon

I was born and raised on the plains of Wyoming. I enjoy an active, outdoor lifestyle. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Wyoming, which means most of my time is spent outside. I enjoy riding motorcycles, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and all in all just being outside. In my downtime I enjoy reading from the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. I am not currently a parent, but marrying in the temple and having children is one of my goals. I am looking forward to serving a full time mission. I have recently been called to serve in Brazil. I am very excited to learn to speak Portugese. I have been very blessed to live a healthy and spiritual life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this gospel. However, this does not mean that I did not need to gain a testimony for myself. I, just like everyone else, needed to gain my own understanding that this Church is true. I gained a testimony by asking my Heavenly Father through prayer. By gaining my own testimony I have come to know and understand God's plan for me. I have also come to know that families are forever, and that I can live with those I love for eternity. I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has touched my heart and made it clear to me that this Church is true. The Book of Mormon has helped me grow closer to my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am constantly looking for ways to serve others in my community. I believe that helping others is a great way to demonstrate faith in Christ. In youth activities we often helped the elderly do yardwork or other activities they could not do on their own. I also enjoy teaching people about Jesus Christ. My current calling in the church is an adult Sunday School teacher. I also help the Missionaries in our ward teach people in our community about the Church. I also demonstrate my faith by having high moral standards and helping those around me.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Brandon
In simple terms, no we do not worship Joseph Smith, or any other subsequent Prophet. We acknowledge the Prophet as the leader of Christ's church on Earth. We beleive that the inspired words of our Prophet come straight from the direction of Jesus Christ and God the Father. We worship Jesus Christ and God the Eternal Father. The most important thing to remember is that Jesus Christ has always been, and will always be the chief cornerstone of the LDS faith, in other words Christ is the center of our religion.
