Hi I'm Josh

I'm British. I'm a University Student. I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 23, born in Bristol, grew up in Cwmbran, South Wales, yet I say I am from Leeds. My Father is a patriotic Welshman and my mother is a fine Yorkshire lass, and I would say I have a soft spot for both Yorkshire and Wales. I grew up as the youngest of 4, being the 'small annoying little brother' to my brother Jacob, and two sisters Gemma and Lauren. Now that we are all matured, we are all best friends. My father is re-married, and I now have two additional fantastic younger brothers, Angwyn and Owain. I am currently studying Architectural Tehnology at Leeds Metropolitan University, and upon graduating I plan to become a chartered Architectural Technologist. I plan to be accomplished in this career, to enable me to provide for my future family, and to teach my future children by example the pinciple of working hard. Alongside working hard, I know that there must be a balace of having fun. I enjoy many things such as, socialising with my friends, enjoying the outdoors and keeping fit.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, simply because it makes me happy. In Mosiah 2:41, it says "And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God..." I know that this scripture is true, and I am proof of this. In my teenage years, I had various challenges as most teenagers do, and I wasn't as happy as I would have liked. After my sister had returned from serving a mission in Canada, she would often speak to me about her experiences, and sparked an interest within me about the gospel. This small spark of interest grew as my loving stake president extended a challenge to read the Book of Mormon, from cover to cover. I accepted this challenge, and after many failed attempts, I finally got past 2 Nephi, and after putting in a lot of effort, I started a habbit of reading the Book of Mormon on a daily basis. Once I began to read daily, I grew a love for the book, and looking back now, I can honestly say that as a result of reading the Book of Mormon, and living its teachings, I have become a much happier person. In 2008-2010, I served a mission in Scotland, which was an honour to share what I have learned to be true with the people I met. I know with all my heart that Jesus Christ is our Saviour, and through him, we can all be saved. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and testifies of Jesus Christ, as does the Bible. This is the true church of Jesus Christ, and I testify of this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

My responsibility in the church is to be a leader to the young single adults in the Leeds area. With help from other church leaders and other young single adults, I help plan physical, spiritual and social activities. The purpose of this is to help all the young single adults in the area meet like-minded people and to help them come closer to our Saviour, Jesus Christ. I also help out in my local church unit by visiting the homes of a few families, and help them come closer to Jesus Christ, by sharing with them the doctrine, as taught by our modern day Prophets and Apostles.
