Hi I'm Chanel

I'm a tube fed wife enjoying life in a broken body, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduate college and worked shortly as a Montessori Educator before my life was drastically altered by a disease called Systemic Sclerosis. I am currently tube fed, wield an oxygen tank, have a central line berried in my chest, and can practically call the hospital my second home. I now spend my days teaching in a different medium; blogging. While I may not have a class of students, I am still able to educate those around me. Through my trials Heavenly Father has granted me peace and strength to endure my afflictions. I married my high-school sweetheart in 2011; he has been by my side in both health, and sickness. The Lord has provided me with an incredible companion for which I am eternally grateful. My Husband and I were sealed in the Seattle Temple in 2013 after my conversion. The gospel of Jesus Christ truly was the missing puzzle piece in my life, and has brought me nothing but joy and fulfillment.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church because it brings me so much happiness in life. I am a convert to the church; growing up Non-denominational I never really felt at home in any one church, something always felt missing, like I was on a different page then everyone there. I was first introduced to the Church by my Husband when we began dating in High School. Being a Mormon his whole life I learned so much about the religion; I was skeptical for a long time, but after a few years I began to want to know more. Shortly after our wedding I was diagnosed with a fatal disease known as Systemic Sclerosis, and that's when my thoughts on life began to change. I longed for comfort, peace, and for a closer relationship with my Heavenly Father. After a night of prayers I woke up with an overwhelming urge to attend my husband's church and it all snowballed from there! I met with the missionaries every week, and started attending. The most amazing changes began to happen in my life, I was happier than I had ever been, and had such a strong confirmation that this is where God wanted me! Everything fit so right, this was what had always been missing from my life. The Church has been such a blessing, the sense of family and love is incredible, and unlike anywhere else. I found my comfort and peace in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I find the best way to live faithfully is following the simple, but magnificent Gospel of Jesus Christ given to us his Holy works. The scriptures give us guidance and comfort in times of need, and explain how we can eventually return to live with our Father in Heaven. They bring peace and meaning to my life and assist me in understanding the will of the Lord.
